So, this mode has a great concept. I love the idea of looting items, trading, and upgrading a base. I don't like how uneven the playing field always is. Like, in Hunt Showdown if I am a brand new free hunter with crap gear, as long as I have a good position or accurate, I can down anyone in 1-2 shots. On this game if you run a free build and go against anyone with decent armor your chances are just so slim for victory. Especially if you're around the same skill level. The different ammo types and armor are just too big of a factor.

I really wanted to find a more modern extraction shooter, but I guess I will stick with Hunt Showdown. I want to really like this game but I just feel like it's CoD with too much gear dependent gameplay. I got the drop on a guy once, shot him a bunch, he runs around a truck I follow thinking he's surely almost gone, but no his armor saved him and I got burned in like 2 hits.

Yeah the difference between low gear and high end gear is way too much.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. I hope they make some changes because it's too extreme right now.

Same reason why most people won't touch Tarkov. Same issue with Gray Zone as well.

This is why PvP in these extraction shooters aren't designed around fair game-play.

This extraction mode screams for PvE only.

Hunt does it pretty well. You can loot stuff but nothing makes you god-like absorbing all kinds of bullets.
