Does the game use SBMM in unranked queues?
If it does, I'm not playing.

SBMM is used in both ranked and unranked.

I don't like SBMM because I hate feeling punished for being good at the game - especially if SBMM is active in unranked modes. League of Legends is HORRIBLE for this. I can hardly have a fun casual time with my friends because my MMR is so much higher than theirs and they get stomped. I'm ACTIVELY punished for being good at the game and it's a terrible feeling. Because of this, I no longer have intentions of playing Delta Force.

Unranked queues should just be a wild, fun, chaotic mess where you're rewarded for being extremely good at the game. I don't like feeling pressured to win up against equally skilled players, nor do I enjoy the extremely long matchmaking times, in UNRANKED queues.

SBMM is a horrible plague on gaming

According to a dev in a reddit post, the game does technically have SBMM for unranked but its basically a "New/Newbie" lobby and an "experienced" lobby. So, not SBMM in the traditional sense as the ranks are extremely wide.

No SBMM it only gives new players a grace period of vsing other noobs.

okay go play X Defiance then I'm having the most fun I had in a long time all teams usually are balanced and even if you're about to lose you can still win if you fight you really can't tell if your skill-based matchmaking that's how you can tell how good the system

This is only a problem if the game favors the shooter

You spend more time in the discussions tab than you do playing the game for real.

I could definitely feel the matches getting harder the more I won and the better I performed. One match I was really at the top of my game, landed in top 5 on the leaderboard of my team, then the next match I was getting harassed by 10 different snipers all with pitch perfect accuracy. Next match was so close that we only had 1 objective defended by the end, with close to 700 enemies killed. So yeah, the game is definitely using SBMM in unranked matches. But it does seem to work, at least here in Central Europe, cus the more matches I played, the closer the outcome of the matches ended up being. There were a few curb stomp victories/defeats I experienced early on, but now, over 10 h in, they've become almost impossible. One match started with my team just throwing bodies at the first objective and I thought we weren't even gonna get past the first base, then 5 mins later we had it and were moving onto the B1/B2 objectives, and we even ended up winning. So don't throw in the towel if a match starts off feeling imbalanced.

Edit: The game is also relatively new, so not only does the SBMM algorithm not have a lot of data to work with, but players are still mostly inexperienced (safe for the no life nerds who grind out the game 8+ h a day, which will definitely... "impact" your experience). As players get more experienced with the maps, weapons and mechanics, and the SBMM algorithm gathers more data about players' performance, I suspect the game will become even more fun. You'll have fewer snipers camping in your base on your team, although that'll always be an issue, if only because sniping is so damn fun in this game.
