Why the "aimbot" problem is not what you think.

So I keep seeing discussions about cheaters, hackers, etc.
NO cheating at most is kept to a minimum. How? The devs have active anti-cheat measures. With new updates older cheats from veterancheats no longer work.

What gamers are doing however are using in-game mechanics, mostly from the two recon classes, who can ping characters on the map.
Luna has a special arrow ability can reach at least 200 to 400 meters on the map to ping enemy locations. Now this ability has been nerfed enough to where if you do get pinged by this you can avoid it...mostly.
Here's how. You'll get a first ping saying 'location found' or something like that but a second warning in yellow that moves ina yellow bar. This is your cue to stop, maybe drop, don't move in motion anywhere. Then after that is done and you don't see the secondary red warning, then you're okay.

Hackclaw's ability draw's white, yellow, to red lines to nearby enemies. Her ability can help people trace to the enemy location. It's semi wall hackish due to the fact she can locate someone with line being traced to them. To further enhance this if you hold V or the flashbang utility after pinging , look directly at one of the yelllow or red lines, hold V, then the drone will home in on the player on that line. You can then try to ambush that player.

Finally all players have the ability to use their own ping of enemies by using the middle mouse button. This causes a red circle of that enemy class to appear for your 4 man team to see. If that player is out of cover, which many players are, this enemy mark can make it easier for snipers and other team members to see and attack. It's literally a big red dot to see. And worse off if that player does go behind cover, just open the map, find their location on the map as it will be a solid staying red dot, you can mark it on the map and start firing on that location to supress fire.

Smoke screens. They DO not stop weapons fire. They also make it easier for all players to find another player. Why? Hit detection markers. This game has very loud hit detection markers and they're easier to see through smoke mostly due to how grey colored the smoke is, and due to this discoloration makes it way easier to see hit markers.

Behind smoke, usually is no cover, it's just concealment. So if anyone with half a brain or more starts firing through smoke, see's hit markers light up, they know a target is there.

Word to wise, if you're smee and have to use smokes, just call yourself the malboro man cuz smokes can kill. Really they do. If you play as medic smee, only use smoke to move from one cover to cover. somehow I notice if you don't use smokes while rezzing another player there's less like shots to come at you.

Here's why this is dumb
The game will TELL YOU when you are being tracked, it is VERY obvious
The amount of times where people will ACTUALLY TRACK and USE IT CORRECTLY in operations is ABYSMALLY small, however the amount of times where they are clearly aware of your exact location and act on it in ways that a non-hacker would have no possible reason to act are in the EXTREMES, being nearly every match you will have somebody kill you and sprint STRAIGHT in your teammates direction without peeking corners or anything like that until the corner is the corner that MAGICALLY GUESS WHAT has your teammate behind it that has been sitting still out of hearing range and untracked by either a luna or hackclaw and yet dude sprints STRAIGHT for em as if he knows (because he does) and prefires the exact location of said teammate that specifically chose a spot with no reason to be prefired as it isn't the obvious advantageous spot or a rat spot and is literally a corner in the back of fuggin narnia and yet he still gets hunted down like the dude's a fuggin bloodhound and can smell his mitties

A lot of us have been playing shooter games for almost 30 years dude. Most people can detect a rage hacker without using anti cheat. There are behavioralisms.

Fun Fact, cheaters do get banned in this game, that is why the number of players are not that high as the start of the game.
