1) If you mean play solo as in "pve" : you have one mission in pve with can be play in coop or solo without mistake (serpentine).
2) If you mean the pvpve mode, you can choose to not have a squad but that mean you will face others team alone.
Hahaha it's a small box just over the one that shows what map you have selected and will say 'Loadout' and/or 'Start'. It'll be next to a 'Show Gear' Checkbox.
Staying alive in this game is NOT difficult. I play almost exclusively solo and it is absurdly easy to avoid players, especially if you stick to Easy mode. There is even a character called Hackclaw that is specifically for solo players. She sneak walks faster, is quieter, has tools to avoid combat, and detect nearby players, and if you have even a 20$ headset you can hear and avoid players very easily.
In 1 in 20 runs will have me get into a pvp fight and that's only because I chose too.
Which this is kind of a deal breaker for me. I was struggling through operations solo for season 1. A lot of my deaths being from teams of three zerg rushing me the moment they find out I'm a solo player, knowing I can't kill all 3 of them at once. Only reason I kept playing operations was because I was hoping solo queue would be added to season 2.
