Did someone install Delta Force on HDD? How is the game running, aside from loading time...

Buy a SSD. Nobody run games on HDD anymore in 2025.
my friend did. It does not function properly. He was loading in for half the match and lagging after that

I have it on a 15yr old 1 terabyte HDD, works fine, load times are fine. I play everyday all gamemodes! I do plan on getting a new SSD in the future but as of right now I use my HDD to "test" games before I decide to use the precious space on my SSD.

Hope that helps!

I need to add I run the game on ultra settings as well. My PC isnt top of the line. Its a hogpog of computes Ive frankensteined together since 2010.
My friend recently upgraded but before then he was using a HDD. it took a long time to join us in Operations, but only the first time per session, the game seemed to cash the level so every time loaded in again (without closing the game) he joined us much quicker.
If it works like Warzone then it's unplayable on hdd

Of course games run better of SSD's, but I am here to say, and you can check my play hours (which isnt huge I just found this game) but it will work. my HDD is 15+ years old and I play many top of the line new games on it, but of course if I want a "better" experience I'll put them on my SSD. As I mentioned before I play on ultra settings, i have experimented with load times by upping and lowering the graphics.

I will say 1-3 times in operations my squad loaded in without me because it brought me back to the black site and had a pop-up that said something like "you have an operation already running, would you like to return?" and I thought that would be a big issue but it hasnt happened since the first day or two of playing.

What do you mean by ssd OR BETTER? Should I install the game on ramdisk?

I did. It ran terribly. Moved it to the SSD and runs smoothly now.

RDMA with Infiniband+Mellanox hardware.

The game does NOT have disk buffer flags which is why HDD performs terrible, I did that on purpose installed on the HDD It PLAYS ok? it plays "fine" like Im getting solid performance but very long loading times and transitions from the end of a match to the base casues the game to not load as it should, like menus not showing up... this can be fixed with a diskcache enabler plugin but thats the whole thing, it is a plugin which counts as a mod, and modding online = risk of ban.

Another solution would be if the devs implement DirectStorage officially.
