A note on anti-cheat, hackers, and crossplay

This game uses ACE anticheat which is owned by Tencent. This has been exploited by a hacking event in the past, most notably by users of the Genshin Impact game. It's true any kernel level anticheat can have security concerns, but some are much easier to hack than others. This is one of them. I will not play this game on PC as long as it uses ACE, I don't want that installed on my PC.

Now, my other option is Xbox when it releases on there. This brings me to my next topic. Based on gameplay I've watched and threads on here, hacking the game for cheating purposes is still very prevalent. This is why PvP shooters should never be crossplay between PC and consoles. PS5 to Xbox SX is fine as those are MUCH harder to hack. One of the reasons that some people (like myself) play PvP shooters on console is to avoid the numerous hackers that come with PC multiplayer gaming. Games should keep Xbox/PS5 on their own servers and PC separate (preferred), or be very attentive in reviewing cheating reports and use an anticheat that isn't so invasive and easily hacked.

This is a problem is MUCH bigger games from devs that have more resources. Hacking is prevalent in Battlefield 2042, all the new COD games, and XDefiant If you play 3 hours a night on any of those games you'll run into at least 2 cheaters, on bad nights sometimes many more. It's also apparently just as prevalent on PC R6 Siege. Siege hasn't launched crossplay yet, but unless they plan on being more strict with banning or putting people into cheater lobbies, I expect the same thing.

If those games can't get it done, I have low expectations for this game, and it already looks bad. Devs should do the right thing and have PC on separate servers.

Battle eye has got a very similar issue (longstanding) and isn't very secure either, literally anyone can perm ban you.
