With the game open : Start>Settings>System>Sound>Advanced Sound Options>Then check default input/output and adjust as necessary. Output = headset/speakers / Input = mic
Every time I hear somebody talk, which is rare. There just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and moaning lol. Had a couple matches yesterday, and it was silent and enjoyable the entire time, except for 1 match where this was talking ♥♥♥♥ about how crap our team was, literally the entire time. Then he stopped the last 3 minutes and we won the match rofl.
That's why the rest do not even try to speak.
I only speak to my friends via discord or rarely people on Arma 3 servers.
By the way if you want to mute text chat press "Control-M", fixed it at least for one game to me where an especially irritating individual was in my squad.
I can talk and other can hear me, but I cannot hear what other are saying. All the right icons are popping on the screen. The other two people can hear and speak normally.
The only thing that fixed it for me, and fixing it twice it cannot be called a miracle no more, was just fully closing the game, fully closing steam and then opening it again. Simple as that. The rest of the settings, input/output for audio, both system and in-game (and whatever else has been suggested) was the way it is supposed to be anyway.
