Anyway, there’s no need to stress. Enjoy the game! The anti-cheat only runs when the game is loaded, and it can easily be uninstalled. There's no real danger here. Plus, most people overestimate how much anyone cares about their "personal info." Honestly, they need to chill and find something more worthwhile to focus on.
the government has so much data that the chance of someone caring about mine is like 0%
and what is there to hide anyways? no human is that interesting. Especially nowadays. Reminds me of that south park episode where cartman is like "what kind of data do we have on an eric cartman from south park?" haha
We're talking about a nation state actor having a literal KERNEL LEVEL backdoor to not just your computer, but the thousands, potentially millions, of people who have also downloaded and installed this to their own computers, with the anti-cheat. Infecting one person, is a waste of time for a nation state, but infecting potentially millions of computers and using those millions of computers in one well orchestrated attack, is literal cyber warfare.
Now, think about everything you do on your computer. Do you access your bank account? Do you pay your bills on your computer? Do you talk about your private life on your computer? I know I do all 3 of those things, and I know there's a good chance everyone else does too. Now think about a program on your computer that can secretly glance at all of those things just as you glance at them, and can key log every password you enter. Now multiple that by millions of people doing the same thing on their same computer, also infected by this game. Finally, just imagine everyone waking up one day to find their bank account completely drained, all as the result of China pulling a fast one and wiping everyone's bank accounts completely clean all at once in the middle of the night. You're not talking about "mah data" anymore; you're talking about a national level economic halt or even collapse.
If you think this is some conspiracy theory bologna I'm talking about; This has happened before to other countries. It happened to Ukraine in 2017 using Petya ransomware as just one example.
Also, the counter argument of mentioning other big name companies like Activision, EA, or Rockstar having their own anti-cheat is missing the point. The substantial difference is that Delta Force dev's are directly funded and controlled by Tencent, a Chinese company. As the Chinese government as stated themselves and found in their own constitution, the Chinese government may take control or interfere with any Chinese company as they please. This same statement is not found in nearly all of the Western world and its own individual constitutions. Not only that, but China has been declared an enemy of the state by most of the NATO forces. But, as I say this, I'm not defending any of those aforementioned big video game companies by any means. All of those companies are corrupt as the devil himself, but that corruption doesn't really spell economic collapse of any nation or large group of people; unlike Tencent.
You can choose to play and install this game, you're your own person and can make your own choices, but I'm just hoping you all see the potential threat this poses.
Wow that's sad, why would you admit that? Also the data/privacy thing has nothing to with watching the porn habits of individuals. Maybe do some research? Or not since you don't care and you're just pointlessly angry. I dunno why British people are so angry all the time.
posted from a VM on a linux machine, with my grapheneOS phone next to me. so no, I dont get spied on from other sources anyway.
