I could be wrong but from testing that I have done it seems to be like a fov for the optic that does not necessarily mess with the zoom of it

I tried jumping in and out of the range o check but i didn't see any difference. I didn't take comparison screenshots though so maybe the difference is minimal?

Just did some testing and seems to be how much of the screen the scope covers when ADS. Or in other words, it changes how much you can see around the scope while aiming down sights. How far your eye is from the sights might be a better way to describe it?

It's basically how far the eyes are from the optic, lower pupilary distance means the optic is closer to the eyes
