Delta Force
Good High Frame Rate Choppy / Stutter Issue
Can anybody help me to figure out what is wrong? If it is a known issue, I get it, I will wait for patches. Basically, I have the game maxed out , running 120 FPS locked without an issue however game stutters a lot , when running around and looking in different directions , the game starts stuttering for like 2-3 seconds and then back to normal. If I keep moving , this occurs like every 20 seconds which makes it a difficult play time, usually end up dieng during stutter. Again, performance FPS wise is good , it just massive stutters. This does not happen in any other game, I have no 3rd party software running in the background such as Corsair ICUE or Asus ARmoury that are known to cause micro stutter, needless to say this isn't micro. Perhaps it is one of the graphics settings in the game, but there is so many, I have no clue where to start. Regardless, stutter as such shouldn't be there. Anybody else is experiencing this?

I get above mentioned FPS with or without ray tracing on. Stutter does remain, with or without ray tracing as well.

My specs:

RTX 4090
14900k
64 GB 6400 MHz RAM
M.2 SSD

Playing on 5120x1440 Resolution.

Any help is appreciated.

In Stream in Delta Force, open properties and in "launch options put the command line -dx11, and in the location of the installed files follow the path Steam\steamapps\common\Delta Force\Game\DeltaForce\Saved\Config\WindowsClient, no Engine.ini file paste the command at the end [SystemSettings]
r.PostProcessAAQuality=0

If it is AMD cards, test disable SAM (Resizable BAR)

This will solve it!

I was running everything super smooth, and then I updated my drivers for the Indiana Jones game, and now I'm getting stutters really badly.
turn of Reflex if you have it on, usually the problem
For anyone with AMD GPU's roll back your GPU drivers to 24.8.1 and stutters should be gone
7800X3D PBO/CO
32GB @ 6400MHz CL28
RTX 4090
Last NVIDIA drivers 566.36

Stutters like hell in some scenes in roughly all maps.
Reducing resolution, reducing from Ultimate to high, playing with DLSS, removing ray tracingn,etc...Nothing helps.

This game needs optimizations. I won't play it anymore until further improvments, if there are...

Here is a fix :
go to Windows control panel>power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings and then scroll to USB Settings>USB selective suspend setting and turn it to disabled

This helps a lot.

i could play this evening at 4K, Ultimate settings, Ray tracing Ultimate reflections, DLSS quality and relex enabled with much much less stutters and much much less GPU usange variations and much less fps drops.

Interesting how the thread still continues and people are suggesting the same things I have already indicated part of the solution that fixed the problem couple days ago. Also, some of you are posting solutions with confidence that it will fix it, don't be so confident. Not everybody has stutter/lag ,because of the same reasons nor it is to the same extent therefore what works for one may not work for the other. Regardless, I reiterate again, my problem has been solved . I performed the same as suggested in the above reply and reinstalled the game, thinking that shaders recompilation may have fixed the issue or both. Here is what I said couple days ago:

GOOD NEWS! Problem seems to be solved. I have read through various posts and tried some suggestions that have not been tried, here is what I did that eliminated discussed stutter/lag pretty much entirely:

1. Control Panel>Power Options>Change Plan settings>Change advanced power settings>USB Settings> USB selective suspend setting - CHange this to Disabled

2. Uninstalled the game, deleted Delta Force folder from steam library folder entirely post uninstall.

3. Reinstalled the game

4. Any Vsync Off, just applied frame cap of 120 FPS.

Now, I don't know which one of these really did it. I am leaning to believe it was reinstall however I don't believe it is reinstall itself rather than the game forcing shader recompilation upon first launch. With this being said, try it out and see ,if it works for you however I believe this is an issue of shader compilation process. If something went wrong the first time, maybe we just need to recompile the shaders , there are ways to do so without reinstalling the game however these are the steps I followed to resolve. CHeers.

"USB selective disabled" improved the situattion for me so much....
I didn't try the other you mention.
Just checked, Multiplayer portion of the game runs on UE4 instead of UE5 which suffers heavily from shader compilation and data streaming stutter issues unfortunately. Best you can do is turn off VSync and hope they don't happen again after the game finishes loading whatever it needs at any moment it stutters.
