Security Concerns

The primary concern surrounding kernel-level anti-cheat software like ACE is its potential threat to user security and privacy. Since these programs operate with high privileges, they can access sensitive information on a user’s computer. This raises questions about data collection practices and whether such software could be exploited by malicious actors or even governments.

User Experience and Control

Another significant issue is the lack of user control over these systems. Once installed, kernel-level anti-cheat software often cannot be easily removed without manual intervention or may require specific steps that are not straightforward for all users. This can lead to frustration among players who feel trapped by software they did not fully consent to use.

Moreover, if a player decides they no longer want to participate in a game that employs such an anti-cheat system, they may find it challenging to remove it from their system entirely. This lack of transparency and control can deter potential players from engaging with games that utilize kernel-level anti-cheat solutions.

.Balancing Fair Play with Privacy

While the intention behind kernel-level anti-cheat systems like ACE is to maintain fair play in competitive gaming environments, the trade-offs concerning privacy and security cannot be overlooked. Players must weigh their desire for a cheat-free experience against the risks associated with granting extensive access to their systems.

Bold Answer: Kernel Level Anti-Cheat systems like Anti-Cheat Expert (ACE) are generally viewed as bad due to significant concerns regarding user privacy and security

Tencent's reputation in China is particularly bad. Tencent's game in China's game environment is particularly bad, most of the reply to your analysis is very correct. But there are one or two people who don't know how bad the reputation of Tencent in China is, and they need to understand Tencent as a whole and not just come up and bash you. Tencent can be a very good investment company or an integrated company, but it can never be a good gaming company. For a quick reply, this paragraph uses a translation tool.

You better not own any games that use Unreal Engine then, Tencent own a big share of it so by your logic you should delete all those games. Go on then

Almost everything is Tencent, you may as well just stop gaming if you're at this point.

Don't use Discord, don't use (as mentioned) any Unreal Engine Game, don't use the Epic Store in general, tripple check every single game as they invested into about any company in the market at this point.
While at it: Throw away any sort of tech (Phone, PC, Console, TV) you got as those most likely either have software on it that's partly owned by tencent or have parts produced in China and often at best get put together in a different country of your choice that then slams "made in" onto it. Let's not forget all the stuff that gets outsourced as well like medication.

Nice bait, but if you'd want to warn people about it/would be against it you'd have to stand outside with a sign, it's never a good look to "warn" about something and tell people to do their research while you clearly don't have an issue/see the issue with anything else.

No no, tencent touched it, as they touch MANY devs and nothing happens.
Obsessive hate over a chinese company is pathetic, just admit what you are buddy

Whoa there buddy. We ruin our own companies just fine without China’s help. No need to get all McCarthy in here.

Correct, I wasn't.
I primarily paid attention to the market, you're fighting back against something where the fight died with their success about 10 years ago.
But hey, more and more meds get imported from China as well, might want to check those for nano-bots I guess.

OP has PUBG and an open profile showing all the Chinese backed games in his library, acting like we can’t see.

Continue to live in a dream world.
Gaming is and always has been controlled by a few factions.
And I couldn't care less if its Chinese or American, both are the same kind of needy if it comes to poor practices.
Not to mention that you're still fighting a dead war. If you'd want to fight it and not just troll around in forums you'd either be outside on the streets for the actual issues or you know, be busy developing functional open source alternatives with the same or better feature set.
The majority of people choose what gives the most QoL, live with it.

Edit: But we both know you're just doing a poor attempt at trolling, gotta start somewhere, sure, but it's what we did ~15 years ago so you may have to step things up.
