BF/CoD Clone? Need Opinions
I have no intentions to play this game, but after watching some gameplay footage, I cannot ignore the many, and very suspiciously, gameplay elements that are identical to the elements we see in the recent BF and CoD games, whether it's the gunplay, animations, icons, sound effects, character movements, menus... As if it's an exact clone, but using a different name (in and itself is an insulting decision to the good ol' DF series).

Those who have/are playing it, what are your thoughts?

FPS games have been copying each other since the inception of Gaming.

Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix. Look it up. Many aspects of this have been taken and inserted into Games we see today. And Double Helix released many many years ago.

While I understand you might think you need opinions on this topic. The truth is. Noone cares.

Call of Duty and Battlefield have been around decades. Of course other Games are going to look at their success and try to create their own.

People need to stop comparing because it's pointless. All FPS Games can exist in the same FPS universe and thrive. No need to say "omg this is a clone. I'm not gonna play it! But it definitely looks like a clone of cod/bf!".

So no offence guy. But. These posts just entice hatred and abusive comments.
Agree to disagree.

Games copying each others' mechanics and looks is one thing. Looking the exact same makes you asking "what's the difference?" anyway.

Appreciate your comment, even though I don't accept your answer entirely. and I'm not looking to drag hate. Simply making a conversation.

Sadly your right, because I was expecting a Delta Force with new physics and graphics engine. Instead this is a arcade shooter that feels like Battlefield or Call of Duty.

Shots that should have killed someone they glance off and you die. Guns feel like COD which sadly most of this world loves, but I prefer realistic games like Rainbow Six Ravenshield, or earlier games.

I also thought they were going to have destruction. The dynamic battlefield was a advertising pitch, and I was expecting Bad Company 2 game play.

The graphics look great, as are the sound effects, but honestly all the voice lines especially the ongoing female announcer is beyond annoying. I don't need to be reminded over and over again that we need to defend the objective.

At least there still is allot of new Early Access tactical shooters to feel the void. I just wish they were closer to feature complete, or the AI isn't totally broken.

It just shows that the COD / BF influence takes a game like OG Delta Force and turns it into a clone hero shooter like Battlefield or Call of of Duty.

I never really tried Extraction mode, but based on the arcade physics and health for enemies. I can't see the game mode being enjoyable.

I will give the developers props for releasing this game as free to play unless you want to pay for the campaign.

A game needs more than graphics and sound to be enjoyable to play for multiple hours, and if I want arcade physics I can play Battlefield.

Honestly, I really wished they did something to relive the times of the actual DF games. Call it reboot, remaster, remake, whatever. This is why I don't see how calling it "Delta Force" has any relation to the franchise. Such a disappointment.
nothing original came out of this. it's free experience of those they copy, thats about it.

I guess it's something positive for those that don't want to buy either BF or CoD, for many good reasons. To give them props for making it free? Yeah, I guess we can. But this is definitely not a DF game.

It's great making conversation. However. You started your post by saying "I have no intentions to play this Game". So I don't hold your value of opinion high enough just purely based on that.

I played in the initial small alpha test. And played/playing the current one.

While it has similarities to Call of Duty and BF 2042. Weapon customisation and how you level are a great feature. The classes/operators actually work correctly. Each weapon/ability functions really well.

Optimisation is really really great. And the game looks graphically very good.

I'll be loading it up in a sec. Been playing in the FC 25 Closed Beta and a couple other games to playtest.

Anyway. Take care brother. Delta Force will be free to play upon release so. If you ever feel the urge to actually get a good measure of how Gameplay is. That'll be your best bet 👍
I'd give this game, perhaps, more respect if the devs had the slightest idea what is the meaning of the name "Delta Force".

I know where you're coming from, and you don't have to hold my opinion at whatever level of value, because whether I play the game at hand or not, I'm not restricted in making threads regardless. Therefore, as much as you think people shouldn't care about such opinions, then I also don't care whether you and others don't care about this thread.

I respect the that you like the game. I really do. And despite the fact that the game is free, no, I'm not going to judge it again by playing it. Watching gameplay footage is good enough for me to make the judgement, even though I despise it entirely because it has nothing to do with the DF series, as I mentioned numerous times by now.

An advice you didn't ask.

Stop looking at who made these mechanics first and actually play the game and see if you have fun.

Do you have fun? PERFECT. Keep playing it then.

You don't? Then uninstall.

Neither Electronic Arts or Activision is going to pay you or care about you noticing the game shares the same mechanics (if they even share the same mechanics, an argument I won't go into since it's a waste of time and completely useless).

Let's remember games FOR US, THE PLAYERS, are supposed to be fun, not a competition. Leave the competition to the actual gaming companies.

Thanks for the advice but no thanks, I know why I posted this thread.

You should give it a go. Sounds like that's more what you're looking for. Extraction mode is much more realistic as far as health goes (bullets hurt... ALOT). For instance, if you're vest gets broken, which happens throughout the course of a match, and someone shoots you, you're gonna come close to death very quickly. You gotta move and heal. Alot more strategy involved, as far as combat tactics.. flank maneuvers, hitting a building from all sides at once.. things like that. It's not like the BF-like mode. It's no joke. The AI are somewhat easy, but every once in awhile, they'll get ya. Worth a try anyway, I would guess you would like that experience more than the other one at least.
Cypher Aug 7, 2024 @ 6:00pm
Oh Extraction is AI? I thought it was more PVP. Maybe I will reinstall and try it, but the main mode is not what I expected at all for Delta Force.
KilLaBee Aug 7, 2024 @ 10:00pm
Its as people say BF/COD style. But they are also deceiving people thinking player count is high and server full. When fact half severs are BOT AI. And they even name then TTV ect. They do not have AI by their name like BF2042 at all. If this is like this live. Doubt it will last long. Also it has alot issues. As one said annoying female announcer. The one liners from operators gets old as well. It has solid animations and sounds. And weapons feel like weapons. Vehicles are worst part of game, and feel like toys. Its good game and hopefully they fix issues and less bots Devs.

It's both. Mostly you'll encounter AIs.. but a player team can roll up on you outta nowhere. Gotta stay on your toes all the time, move tactfully, keep your ears open. Alot less spraying bullets, alot more tactical execution.
