yeah. I don't get it at all.
Hawk Ops actually looks good and has pretty good sound design. Game would be overwhelming better if they just had generic soldiers without these goofy ass abilities and operators. Let's us pick our weapon, have basic classes (medic, recon, assault, machine gunner) with basic class skills. Devs are trying to do too much when in reality with FPS games, less is more.
Every previous BF game didn't have all of this goofy ass abilities or hero shooter B.S and they always performed very well and retained players. BFV and BF1 still retains more daily players than 2042. BV5 had 38k players in the last 24 hours. That's the playerbase Hawk Ops needs to be appealing to. Those who just want a true BF experience again.
I think devs see that X games is doing this, but not realizing not every gamer likes or wants the hero shooter, goofy mechanics. There's very little options for gamers to play an FPS game with generic solders other than the older BF games. With 2042 sh!tting the bed, I really though Hawk Ops was going to have a generic class system with character customization instead of just straight up ripping off 2042. Doesn't make sense to rip off a game that failed.
Same thing happed with the game World War 3. Game had it's own ideas, then they ended up adding trendy mechancis and killed the game off. Devs need to realize that trendy mechanics doesn't apply or appeal to every game and there is a market for an FPS for those who don't want all of this goofy b.s
Give us a generic customizable solider, a weapon, a class and that would appeal to tens of thousands of players easy.
IDK. I am a full believer that allowing the freedom for players to customize their character how they want, allows for more opportunity to sell both complete outfits and individual pieces, like a rig, helmet or pants by themselves, where players can mix and match cosmetics without being forced to wear a complete outfit or "skin"
I'd happily spend $X of time between individual cosmetics over $20 dollar skins that we will just see other players having the same skin. In BFV, with the level of customization and cosmetics, it's very rare to find cloned solider other than the default starting uniforms and legendary uniforms. Other than that, solider appearance in BFV is very diverse.
I think BFV has some of the best customization and cosmetics for a PvP FPS game
and that's the model Hawk Ops should have.
Sure, but what if they sell skins AND a very strong operator?
Agree 100%.
Game isn't even going to make through 3 seasons if they keep these garbage operators.
