No. Plague Knight's campaign is only part of the original release/Treasure Trove
To be honest having to deal with the same "arguments" over and over again it's getting tiresome, especially since I already said that I know how much content the game has by now, I'm completely aware of all the "free" DLC and yes even with that still it's not worth the price tag, I'm just gonna copy/paste what I said before.
"and yeah I know there's a lot more content in it by now but still, considering the quality and price of some of the indie games that we have by now (Hollow Knight, Ori, Cuphead, etc) the price tag for this game is a little crazy, in the same amount of time Terraria grew massively with tons of free and polished content (And Terraria was always way cheaper to begin with)"
As for you asking "is this thread serious?" please, I'm obviously not the only one who thinks like this, even in other threads, the question about the price of the game and the lack of good discounts is nothing new, you can see other threads like that from time to time. Even in the negative reviews you can see people talking about how this game might be decent but it's also nothing THAT especial and definetely not worth a full 40 dollars price.
AND I already pointed out that I haven't pirated a game in like 10 years, I wouldn't even be thinking about it if this whole thing (This business model) wasn't so ridiculous, as I said before at this point it's not even a thing about money (Since I actually could pay the full price if I wanted) it's about not supporting crappy indie games practices and setting a bad precedent for future games, I don't feel comfortable supporting an Indie game with a AAA game mentality.
However, they've been reluctant to give this game a major discount. I'm sure they have a good reason. I think I remember YCG saying something about how added value shouldn't increase demand for discounts, but the honest truth is that some people will only buy games under their value, and other indie titles, as mentioned before, add similar value for less money.
I hope YCG finds a way to keep this title relevant for a long time; it's a nearly perfect game and I'd love to see it do well for a long time.
Funny you mention that, in my original post 5 years ago I wrote "There's a reason why only 3 of my Steam friends have this game already, but there's 9 with the game in their wishlist (10 counting me)"
Now 5 years later I have 12 friends on Steam with this game on their wishlist, not only most of those friends haven't bought the game yet (Because of its price) but the amount actually increased, lovely.
Also I know I already compared this game to Terraria, since that's a game that in the same amount of time has given its fans way more content than this game and unlike this one it has been completely free without feeling the need to jack up the price even more, but just take look at this picture:

I think it speaks for itself, when you care about your fans you'll sell more, it's just a simple fact...
Taking a glance at other forms of entertainment solidifies that. Watching a movie for 2 hours is 15 bucks, and then they charge you out the rear if you want snacks. Nowhere close to Hollow Knight's value. Hollow knight isn't the norm here.
Why would we take a glance at other forms of entertainment when we're talking about video games?
I think some indie developers set their prices based on what they feel the game is worth, rather than on trying to find their game's natural market equilibrium. And they can do whatever they want, obviously, but it probably costs them money.
There's a reason people said movie theaters were dying, even before the pandemic. As the prices roses higher, fewer people went. They can get more bang for their buck through other means, and from the comfort of their own homes.
I would actually recommend just buying Shovel of Hope, but that's just me.
Nobody owes you a sale and if you're salty about it that's fine - but expect to get called out on it when you act like you are on some sort of moral high ground with more marketing knowledge than the team of devs who have been making this game for 6 years.
This game went on sale 34% off 11 times before the first price hike to $25. It had a 50% off sale in 2019 down to $12.50, and multiple $20 sales. Then it went to $40 while regularly being on sale for $28.
It is nobody's fault but your own for not owning the game. It was a STEAL at $15 and insane that it ever went down to $10. But you wanted to save your $2.50 so bad. $2.50 that you spent on other stupid ♥♥♥♥ instead. No sympathy from me.
The reason I haven't bought this yet is because I wait until games are 50 to 75% off.
Since almost every AAA game goes that low after a couple of years - THAT is where I spend my money.
The tc is absolutely right .
This game is almost 7 years old . It's WAY past time for a substantial discount
