Plague Knight can't jump?
I finished the game with both Shovel Knight and Specter Knight, and enjoyed them both.

Now, when I set out to play Plague Knight, I find it REALLY cumbersome since he seems incapable of jumping, requiring a charge of those bomb things to produce anything remotely able to reach any height.

Is this really so?

Well, he can also doublejump. But yeah bomb bursts are required for great heights.

Also, good luck beating this campaign. Seriously. I think it's really challenging.

Yeah, I knew about the double jump.
But I just figured it out.
It's shooting in the air that gives you just barely enough of a boost that it makes it possible to reach most ledges by performing the double jump and shooting 3 times at the very top of the jump.

This just saves you from having to pause for 1 second to charge before pretty much every single jump.

My recommendation (and it was recommended as such on the website) is to do the second jump after the Bomb Burst, because that gives you the most height and distance.

Plague Knight is probably the most difficult of the characters to learn, so I don't blame you for the frustration, but I think he's super fun once you get used to how he plays.

You can also unlock a Bomb Burst that allows you to float downward, although you might need to find a few Cipher Coins for that.

I dont mind that its hard or challenging but the abilities he has makes him not fun to play. Feels very unnatural and cluncky to me.

Precisely. Seems like a crippled character, struggling through the simplest things.
I enjoyed the other two, but dropped out of the game shortly after starting with him.

Personally, I started Plague of Shadows back when Specter of Torment didn't exist. I kept playing because I didn't have that much to play and wanted more shovel knight. Then I got annoyed so much and quit. Then, after beating SoT I came back and FORCED myself to beat it.
This is honestly the worst campaign and I regret forcing myself to beat it.

Exactly what i am doing right now. After finishing with shovel knight i started with Plague Knight. Played the 1st level and stopped playing after that. Just finished with Spectre Knight and now forcing myself to play and finish Plague Knight :)

Plague knight is definitely the worst campaign, but it’s far from a bad one. It really isn’t horrible

You can actually speed through Plague's campaign really fast and skip a lot of areas because Plague has a crazy fast spin burst that propels you far if you know how to time and juggle it. Just watch any speed runner video on how they use plague.

Yeah, I think it's the worst of the three, but only because it recycled so much from Shovel of Hope. Aside from that, it's actually pretty awesome. Plague Knight has a lot of interesting mobility options, and has a fun personality and storyline. I really like it.

Yeah, no kidding. With the component powder and impact fuse he can do a lot of damage, but the difficulty is in landing your shots and doing the platforming. I just finished the New Game Plus version of the campaign and that battle royale section is nearly impossible without insane luck.
