So you're annoyed that the game didn't have an eye-rolling plot twist at the end? I don't know what you expected. King Knight is an arrogant, evil idiot and he acts like that the entire game. Plus we all know how his arc ends so it's not like it was going to go some other way. This is what happens when people demand to play as the villain. You get to PLAY AS THE VILLAIN, with all the good and bad that comes with it.
I've seen a few gripes here and I have no idea what people really expected. Did you really want some dumb happy ending with everyone dancing in a circle while holding hands? Why this need to have an ending that is just like every other ending out there?
I definitely don't enjoy characters who are extremely selfish and narcissistic like King Knight,
I loved how he stayed true to this and never deviated and clearly couldn't care less about anything about his own needs. And his response to Cardia is priceless.
and Shovel Knight appears to dethrone him immediately, just as he deserves.
Yes, I thought this is exactly what the Epilogue is supposed to convey.
It's also legitimately unique to be able to play an ACTUAL bad guy. There's a lot of "anti-heroes" out there but they all eventually do the right thing but not here. I loved it. I don't get why folks would be annoyed by a character that is actually unique. Folks want the same thing every time?
But he doesn't care about them at all. That would fly in the face of the character.
Why the need to nerf his character in this way? So the audience can feel fuzzy for five seconds? Not worth it.
