Treasure Trove DLC PC vs PS4
Very confused by the way this game ships on different platforms. Can anyone clear this up?

So, I bought the bog standard Shovel Knight for PS4, not Treasure Trove Edition. Upon installing, I find it's upgrade via patches to TT edition with all DLC. Great!

However, on PC (Steam), TT is way more expensive. If you buy the regular vanilla Shovel Knight on PC, do you get a free upgrade to TT or do you have to buy the TT version?

when did you buy regular Shovel knight? Those that owned it before a certain date were auto updated to TT and got all the DLC for free.

I purchased Shovel Knight for PS4 one week ago! I've never owned nor installed it before on PS4.

I see TT listed as $40 on PSN with no alternate versions available which seems to be the same as the PC Steam version.

As far as I knew, they removed all "original" versions of Shovel Knight from PSN...the version you describe above looks like the type we got years ago...where we paid around $15 for it and got all the DLC for free. I'm just not sure how you got it just a week ago.

It's very odd because I purchased it for PS4 second-hand and got all this DLC for £10 (GBP). I assume if you buy the regular Shovel Knight (not TT) on Steam, it won't give you all the DLC like the PS4 version just did. Really confusing. Obviously not a complaint-- amazing deal for PS4 but seems like a bad deal seeing as you can buy the cheap regular SK and get everything or you can buy TT for loads more and not get any benefit in doing so.

Depends on the version. Some console releases automatically got every DLC for free. Wii U version has the original box art, but it automatically updates to Treasure Trove. That applies to every console version.

So regular SK on Steam won't magically upgrade? Would be odd if it did what with TT out there but would be nice!

The Steam version does not upgrade automatically. I think it was because the price of the Steam version was less than the console ones
