Still, knowing people only paid $15 and got all of the game hurts. I'm so use to games dropping in price over time. You'd expect that they'd release new content to justify keeping the price at $15. But they know their business model more than I do. Guess this is how they make more money on repeat buyers, by upping the price. They must have been running on borrowed time if this was the price the game needed to be at. Just shows that every perceived charitable move from a company always has a darker side. Yacht Club is no different.
Also 5 games for $40 is a lot. $15 for 2 new games is fine, so the boost from $25 to $40 makes sense that way. Shame I gotta wait to play it. Such a high price makes it more unlikely I'll buy it a third time, which is an even bigger shame. Yacht Club isn't somehow a bad company now, they're just like any other, nothing special about them.
And don't forget that this game contains 4 full games plus a multiplayer battle mode for up to 4 players.
So yeah. You snooze, you lose :)
Yeah, I definitely notice this on Steam. I usually have ~20 games on my wishlist, and they send you an email if something you like from it is on sale. I find it helps a ton in getting good deals vs. just buying a game I see when I like it. Plus, getting an email saying "16 games on your wishlist are on sale" makes me feel a bit like I did on Christmas morning as a kid.
I told you a couple of months ago in a different chat that once the last expansions releases, the base price will go up. Meanwhile they had 2-3 sales at 50%off with their still low base price. I even explained to you that Treasure trove is the best deal, because it comes with all the content bundled together into one game, and the other standalone titles are that - titles and not dlcs. All included in treasure trove... I suspect it will hit 75% off sometime in the future, with base price as it is now, so you might end up with the same deal as everyone else had at some point during those years.
However we both know you never really wanted to get the game, so no need to pout here now.
I know how good the game is and how much effort went into it. I just don't want to be down $40 because of it. It's partially just me not getting out of my mind that shovel knight and its expansions are worth that much.
