Body Swap mode glitched?

I switch Shovel Knight to female, but his/her sprite doesn't change, nor do any of the other characters in the game

I just checked and it was working fine, did you make sure you set the settings you wanted (everyone on opposite or specific gender, or manually setting genders for each character, etc.)? If it's still not working try verifing the content cache at least, since I don't remember any recent patches that could have potentially bugged the Body Swap mode.

I couldn't find an ability to set it for individual characters

Well for one switching Shovel Knight to female barely changes anything. It changes like 7 pixels around the chest and hips to be more slender (and feminine) and thats it. I would recommend Googling what female Shovel Knight looks like and carefully comparing it to your screen. Maybe take screenshots and compare them side by side. The change is super tiny.

Turns out you're right

Yeah it's just this Female Shovel Knight barely looks different from Regular Shovel Knight

The ONLY difference I can tell is that female Shovel Knight is wearing a skirt

They couldn't have given her breasts or something? I mean I'm glad we don't go from a fully armor clad knight to a chainmail bikini, but COME ON

On the Body Swap menu, keep scrolling down and you'll see every character you can swap the genders of. You can always access the Body Swap menu from the pause menu, even during a stage.

She also has smaller horns on her helmet, and is slightly shorter. Compared to characters like Queen Knight and Treasure Knight she has very little changed. Honestly most of the characters didn't get that many changes in Body Swap mode but Shovel Knight is the worst offender, even more so since you play as Shovel Knight the entire game.

Indeed Shoves just feels... so damn lazy, if only the game had mod support to fix this

I just googled male vs female knight armor and they look nearly identical with a helmet on. With armor that heavy it seems you can't emphasize feminine features much. It would be cool to have a helmet-less option for Shovel Knight, or maybe have long hair trail out the back of the helmet?
