Is Shovel Knight kind of hard? or am I just bad...

I died at least 8 times in the graveyard and after that, I'm kind of too scared to defeat plague night, after killing specter knight I had 3 hearts but I feel like I'm just bad at the game.

Specter Knight's stage was originally planned to be later in the game and it kind of shows. While Plague Knight has some tricky parts, it shouldn't be that hard. I would suggest trying out Mole Knight first.

Shovel Knight was intended to be a bit of a challenging platformer, to be fair. But that said don't lose heart. Real knights stick to their shovels and overcome any dirt pile!

Just keep at it, friend. You'll get the hang of it!

Take advantage of any relic/arcana/curio you can get and buy upgrades. That helps to lower the difficulty.

It's a legitimately tough game. You'll get the hang of it, once you have done a few playthroughs!

The trick to specter knight is patience (unless you're doing the rematch because then there's a time limit). Stand on the platform opposite him and wait for him to attack, then react to that attack. If you do this he's a lot easier once you learn his moves.

Yes, the first time I played I was horrible, (I used to play a pirate version) But after trying and trying I beat the game.

Compared to the hardest platforming games on the NES (like Megaman), Shovel Knight is about medium in terms of difficulty. In my opinion.
