The issue is whether it would be worth it or not. Even without VPN, GameStream is a very finicky piece of tech. In my own experiences, both with the official Nvidia Shield Tablet as well as third party implementations, I’m lucky if I can even find the a stream playable on a local network. Since I’m assuming you want to have an additional player who is also on PC/not be limited to specific Nvidia hardware, you are pretty much required to go with a third party solution. As great as moonlight is(better than the official app imho), you will come across various issues; poor performance, occasional disconnects… might even come into some really rare and awful problems, like breaking your PC audio or taking over Player 1 controls even when you are not streaming. Moonlight is also more focused on Android devices. The desktop ports have had a significant upgrade since the Java build days, but still a far cry from acceptable.
The most positive thing I can say is that Nvidia GameStream does have proper controller support in this game. Trying to stream it myself, however, I quit from the platforming frustration. Even with < 15 ping, I did not find this enjoyable.
