I've tried playing the game with both joycons and a single joycon. So far it seems like one joycon is a lot better than using both joycons which is odd plus I'm using the problematic Joycon(Left) and it's much improved over using both. This is a very odd issue plus not being able to use co-op is just weird.... But it says "Amiibo" on top of the co-op option... Do I actually have to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ use an amiibo to use co-op in this game?!
2. Are you sure you're following the instructions correctly for activating co-op?
Also, no, you don't need amiibo for co-op. You just have the option to have one player to play using the amiibo custom knight instead of Shovel Knight.
You have Binding of Isaac on the Switch and get the same issue?
Nope, I don't get input lag when using a single controller or handheld mode. It's only when I use both Joycons to control the character that I get this issue. It's really odd and very annoying.
I could be right up at the TV, nothing between the controllers and the console and have them pointing directly at the console and still get this issue however I can be ten feet away with one Joycon and it'll be okay.
How do I do co-op then? It won't let me activate my second Joycon. The second Joycon lights up as P2 but no buttons register what so ever.
Thank you and everyone else for alpha testing the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully I can pick up a finished product somewhere next year!

There are no gameplay/hitbox/physics changes between any platform.
You'll need to setup your joy-cons as two separate controllers to begin co-op. You can do so by entering the "Change controller/grip menu" on the title screen, in the co-op binding screen, or on the Switch's own Home Menu. Then press L & R on each controller.
