Player progression.
I would like to start by saying that I really like your game and that I will only comment on what I think should be improved.

  • One of the things that characterizes the game in relation to the evolution of the character is the economic system that it has implemented.
    There are many different types of resources in the game that allow us to buy different and varied improvements, but as we progress we will find that we basically end up obtaining endless resources that are useless and that the player's progress focuses on 1 or 2 rare resources. Normally we will find that the black heart is the most coveted resource to evolve and that we can complete the run with its current 4 episodes and obtain a single black heart despite eliminating all the mini-bosses that appear in this run, when they usually ask for between 3 or 5 black hearts plus other resources for any upgrade.

    Faced with this situation, we have our butcher friend who offers us a limited and random change of resources that generally does not satisfy our needs at all.

    A resource exchange is needed, being able to buy black hearts or any other resource in exchange for other resources and that is neither limited nor random. Currently the economic system implemented in the game is made to slow down the player's progress and is not fun.
    It is clear that in these games the evolution of the character is part of it in order to advance and is part of the fun, but there is a big difference between this and stopping the player's progress who is not rewarded at the end of the run. A resource that I cannot use is of no use to me.

    In the end the player will stop playing the game, either because he completes it or because has maxed out main characters or because has gotten bored of finishing runs without seeing any progression. The first is gratifying, the last one is not.

  • This has already been mentioned before in the forum, I will comment on it anyway, if the player has to abandon the run because has to stop playing, the resources obtained should be saved just like when you are killed.
