If I choose to explore the USF Midway from the main menu option, the view will pan to the left until I move the mouse pointer all the way to the right of the display. With that said, by moving it all the way to the right of the display, it will stop the panning to the left, but it won't actually pan to the right. And the only game controller response I get in this scenario is looking up and down.
In actual combat, after the ship launches, it is immediately in a roll to the left. This persists whether I move the mouse or fire a weapon from the mouse. However, if I use button #1 on the joystick to fire the primary guns, the roll to the left stops and I have complete control of the ship. However, if I go back to firing the primary weapon from button #1 on the mouse again, the roll to the left starts again.
Obviously I won't be using both input devices during combat, but in the scenario of having the mouse connected and a single game controller device connected, I can only use the single game controller device and not the mouse. And with both input devices connected, exploring the USF Midway is a little to challenging since it keeps panning to the left unless I move the cursor all the way to the right to stop the panning. :-)
I hope this helps.
