Altered music for original soundtrack version?
I've been playing the game with the original music on, and I've noticed that the music for the first and second areas is changed up a bit. They even have different names when it shows the song playing in the corner, like 'Knightmare Again' has been changed to 'Knightmare Regain' & 'Chosen One' has been changed to 'Unchosen One'. Is there a reason for this change?

Lawsuits... Those musics were from others games.
Really? Do you know what games they are from? I'm guessing 'Knightmare Again' is either from Knightmare or it's sequel Maze of Gallius, but I have no Idea where 'Chosen One' could come from. Either way, thanks for clearing that up for me, Benomono.

I did some searching, apparently "Chosen One" was originally from Shadowgate for NES.
Cool, thanks.

Yeah, I'm sorry about the difference, but we definitely don't have the rights to the original tracks. That being said, it's Murasame himself who made the "new" Original tracks (just as he made the "Japanese" ones, remixed from those songs that we don't have rights to -- this stuff works a little differently in Japan sometimes, for doujin works). I actually find the new melodies more unique and interesting, but many disagree because they're used to the old tracks. Another pro is that the new tracks are stereo, while the old were just monaural. Either way, we didn't even have to bring it up to Murasame. When we first received the game from him, those songs had already been changed.

The remixed soundtrack is so superior anyway <3
@Sara: It's alright, you can't help that copyright laws prevent you from using the original Japanese tracks for those songs. I just thought I'd ask about it to see if there was a reason behind it.

@Cranky Bunneh: That's subjective. While I do actually like what I've heard so far of the remixed tracks a lot, especially for Knightmare Regain & Unchosen One, I like the "Original" soundtrack better as a whole, and I LOVE the Japanese originals the best. Then again, I prefer retro-style chiptunes over anything any day.

This is kinda subjective. To be honest, I don't like majority of the remixed tracks. Especially when said tracks seem to have its beats on the wrong places a lot of times. Somehow makes me think that the composer might have lacked experience in basic music theory or something.
In particular, the remixed Fairy Tale is just... no. Just no. The beats are incredibly misplaced, the intro was a bit too rushed... bleh :/ So much for the main theme of the game's protagonist.

I do appreciate the remixed Seven Devils though. Remixed Heartbeat Queen... not really sure. It has its ups, but it has its downs.

This was completely my fault and I've been looking into finding some way to fix it later, but I can't promise anything. It wasn't Leila's fault, for sure.
