Win32:Evo-gen [susp] Virus?
Everytime I try to install and play this game, my Anti-Virus programm tells me that the exe.file contains "Win32:Evo-gen [susp]" which is apparently a Virus that can open a backdoor on your computer.
Did anybody else have this problem?
Is this a real threat because of some oversight or just a mistake made my Anti-Virus scanner?

Try submitting the file to VirusTotal.

The "[susp]" tag probably means it's suspected, and not necessarily a virus. Not sure, though.

What anti-virus program are you using?

I am using Avast Antivirus. I'll try to check the file on Virus Total.

EDIT: VirusTotal didn't find anything. I'm still not sure about this.

ITs likely a false positive. I use AVG and its never tagged it as a virus either.

I just recently encountered this while using the ModAPI program for The Forest. If you go into the virus chest in Avast (the only one that seems to throw up this win32 evo gen thing a lot), and scan it within the virus chest, it actually says no virus. So, not even Avast really thinks it's a virus.

- Right click on avast on the little icon on the system tray (taskbar right corner)
- Click on "Virus chest", you'll find Steam.exe in the list that shows up, right click it, then click "Restore and add to exclusions".

That should do it.
