Any way to save and quit?

I feel like an idiot asking this question, but is there any way to quit the game other than alt-F4? Any way to save progress? I would normally expect ESC to bring up a menu but it just brings up the text messages.

No, for whatever reason, the dev just doesn't want to add an "exit game" button no matter how much it's brought up with each release.

No direct saving. We get a checkpoint system and that's it.

Well that's...certainly a choice to make. I was having a good time and wanted to pick it up later, but I guess I can't.

You can pick the game up later but you start from the last checkpoint.
Indeed pretty silly there is no exit function. Never saw that in a game before.

if you go outside and try grab it through the window and microwave wall it picks it up or atleast it did for me when i threw something in the microwave

How do you know when it saves at the checkpoints? Do I just exit the game and then come back later or smth?
