[SPOILERS] I've found the hidden sound with a hidden message!

Hi everyone,

After reading the recent announcement by Krillbite Studio, I was curious about the "hidden sound with a hidden message" that has been included with the new update, so I decided to replay the game to try to find it.

I began exploring all the areas and "hidden" corners in the environment, when I suddenly reached a spot where I could hear this weird, unnatural sound which had a distinct, repeated pattern. I also noticed that this sound effect did not occur anywhere else in the game, only in that specific spot.

Where to find the sound in-game:

It can be heard on the left side of the screen after being hit by the third wind gust. The wind will push you in that direction, just move around a bit until you find a little branch with leaves, which is below a broken large tree branch, and you'll hear the sound.

I decided to record the sound pattern, and after investigating a bit about hidden text in sound files, I came across this free program called Sonic Visualiser, which allows the visualisation of hidden text within the spectrogram of an audio file.

I ran the audio sample in Sonic Visualiser adding a spectrogram layer, and then zoomed in the spectrogram, and this is what it showed (repeated several times):

I couldn't really tell what the message was at first (the beginning looked like "GOD" to me), so I asked my boyfriend, Paddy, to help me with it. He almost immediately noticed that the first part of the message was goo.gl! Then he edited the image and squished it down to make it more readable:

We still weren't sure about all the remaining characters, so we tried different combinations of upper-case and lower-case letters, and we finally found the complete message:

goo.gl /iyPHsQ

(Remove the space after gl, Steam apparently doesn't allow shortened URLs.)

I would never ever post a link to harmful content. I'm an upright person and I only posted about this because I was so excited to have found the Easter egg (and I put so much work into it)!

I'm sorry if it sounds like nonsense to you, I tried to explain it the best way possible and I didn't make up any of it. The hidden sound with the hidden message can indeed be found in the game by anyone, it was placed there by the developers with a purpose (to reward the players with a little bonus), and the same result can be achieved by anyone who follows the same steps I did.

Unfortunately, the short link doesn't seem to be working now, so copying and pasting it won't have any effect anyway. It's a shame, because I think it's awesome that the devs had this idea, and like I said I was really excited to have discovered it.

I believe this might be the reason why Google has disabled the short link:

"Do not use goo.gl for URLs that are either executable/package files (like .apk, .dmg, .exe, .zip, etc.) or that contain only IP addresses, or for shortening URL re-directors (either off goo.gl or via other URL shortening services)."

The file uploaded by Krillbite Studio is a .zip archive.

I can confirm that the short link worked before, because both me and my boyfriend have used it to download the bonus content. The direct link itself is safe and has a secure connection (the content is hosted on Amazon Web Services), but unfortunately the fact that the short URL has been disabled ruins everything, because now anyone who might find the Easter egg by themselves won't have access to the bonus content.

UPDATE:

I've just tested the short URL using HTTPS protocol, and this way it works!

I didn't post the direct link because the file name reveals what the surprise is; it's more "secret" if people use the short link and find out by themselves instead. :)

wouldn't be made up. just 3 days before, in the developer's news, revealed "1 hidden soundtrack to be found in the game *wink*"

there's also an unlockable character.
