Its Back!! New publisher here.
Hi...I am from the new publisher of the title, my name is Nick and the company is Digerati. We have taken over rights to the PC version, leaving Code Avarice no longer involved here and focusing on a new project, I believe. Its been a wild month or so getting everything ready but i feel like we are ready for launch tomorrow. As some of you savvier chaps are aware it is actually already out now but the news piece should go out tomorrow, a long with 'official' soft (re)launch, if there is such a thing. There are a few new bits of in game content that should have updated automatically for all current players and I found the pro guide helped me to die less and get a tiny bit further. You will find this in your Steam game file. So, play hard, die a lot and have fun. Happy to chat with anyone but *disclaimer*I have nothing to say about Code Avarice or Mike, they seemed like ok guys to me and I personally loved their game...so naturally wanted it back on Steam. We reached an agreement and that was that! I in no way support the view Mike expressed in his tweet.

Looking forward to connecting with the fans and chatting more with you all, we are just a small publisher trying to bring good games to good people. Thanks!

An important question: Does Code Avarice recieve any royalties or other proceeds from the sale of this game on steam and gog?

No. They sold the game, and no longer retain rights to it.

They sold the source and IP, but that doesn't rule out some form of royalty.

the deal puts us in full control of the IP. Details of exact structure are under NDA (which is completely normal for an IP acquisition).... but there is no buy back clause in our agreement! Best

Right, they can't buy it back, but you're still side-stepping the general question of whether they continue to gain revenue from this - not whether they had buyback rights.

thanks, I felt so too, which is why it was a shame no new customers got a chance to buy/play the finished version!

Ha honestly there is no hmmm to be had, things are never as interesting or controversial as they may seem, just because we can't give out financial details on the deal doesn't mean something is awry. Drop me a line if you want to talk more... nick@digeratidistribution.com

Nick, maybe you're missing the implication of the question, because depending on the answer it could be quiet controversial.

There's concern that by changing publishers and getting past the ban, will still profit after generating so much ill will from the community.
