First 100 Levels - My Thoughts Thus Far
Hello! I just finished the 100th level (all 5 levels for all 5 shops in the first four stages), so I thought I'd post my thoughts thus far. I wrote them down as I went. FWIW I'm a HUGE fan of the series. I have 40 hours in Burger Shop 1 and 30 hours in 2. I have all of the achievements as well. I'd consider myself pretty well-versed basically haha!

Onto my thoughts...
- I think the cookies should be able to be served on a plate. They feel roughly analogous to the egg/ham/english muffin suite in the breakfast levels and I think they fit better on a plate. They're very small items and especially given that you can cook more than one at a time... I don't know. Just a thought.
- BT's Sweets in general is *tough*! Not a bad thing per se just something I noticed. There's a lot to juggle and- and this is the one bit I don't really love- a lot of the items look very very similar. Vanilla ice cream vs cookie dough vs vanilla cupcake... it can be hard to tell what's what.
- I feel like the instructions for "basket items"- specifically churros and motz sticks come to mind- should specify that they can ALSO be ordered as a basket of 2, not just 4. It didnt' come intuitively to me at first, especially when in BS2, 3-order and 6-order chicken nuggets were unlocked separately.
- FWIW in early levels I was also mostly just getting customers ordering 2 churros or sticks... unsure if this is a bug or intended lol. This seemed to even out with time.
- I'd love to see a different plate for each restaurant! Similar to how the bowls are different in the Asian restaurant
- Oven pots feel a little high up in the italian kitchen but I've never been that great at managing the pastas lol, so this might just be me.
- The diner levels feel a little.... overcrowded. I get the idea and it certainly makes them more challenging but it can get a little overwhelming a little fast haha.
- The OJ in the diner is... weird. I don't really get it- it's the only drink that isn't prepared via drink machine. I think a great compromise for this is to make the orange juice come in a different cup (maybe even a mug for simplicity?) and to turn the orange soda fountain into a dual-function machine, similar to the "caffeine machine" for the cola/coffee. Four oranges crowds the belt and also just doesn't feel super intuitive for drinkmaking lol
- Burger Bot's progress is not transferred between levels as it was in prior games
- Introducing the vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting short-circuited my brain a little bit lol
- The cookie dough is VERY visually similar to the vanilla ice cream. Again, perhaps intended to make it more challenging? But it might be worth considering how they could be made more visually distinct. Put the cookie dough on a tray?
- Not all of the springrolls I was serving up on their own were requested with lettuce. Not sure if this was intended or not. I'd get one person ordering 2 spring rolls without any lettuce... then the next person ordering 2 spring rolls WITH the lettuce
- It might be helpful to specify that Burger Bot will fully complete phone orders in the phone order tutorial. Highlight that BB will also send those orders off.
- On a similar note... the function of both the phone orders and the thief are to have an additional step after fulfilling the orders, right? Why not also have BB bop the thief on the head so I don't have to go click after him? If he fulfills that criteria for the phone orders, why not the thief?
- I would more clearly specify that sundaes are NOT a set number or flavor of ice creams and that they, functionally, are like fancy cones. I initially assumed they'd all be strawb/choc/vanilla; this is, of course, untrue
- The Rocket Burger building says "Cafe" on the art, but is in fact a "Diner"- adjust the wording?
- I feel like hitting escape on the map should lead to the homescreen directly, or at least open the settings menu

And this is my BIG gripe, my one major complaint:
Please god please don't make the dog girl request anything BUT dog treats!!!
I'm biased. I'm in veterinary medicine. I really don't mind the treat mechanic... but you should not be feeding your dog a pile of ground beef, or a slab of raw salmon, or a whole cupcake or scoop of ice cream!!!
Ignoring all of that lol- it's just needlessly complex. It doesn't make the game more fun, it just makes it needlessly confusing. Feels like an element thrown in just to make things a tiny bit trickier... it doesn't augment the gameplay in a creative way imo. The dog treat is enough.

Overall I'm liking it so far! This game is more difficult than the first two for sure, mainly because I'm not yet familiar with all of the foods. Maybe one day I'll get to a point where I can shut my brain off and chug along lol.

Thank you, GoBit Games! Looking forward to continuing to play. I'll be sure to post additional thoughts as I progress.

Hey, thanks for all of the feedback! To answer a few questions:

* Yes some orders with multiple items like churros, cheese sticks, and sushi have fewer of those items allowed to be ordered in earlier levels than in later levels.

* It's true that Burger Bot doesn't remain active between levels anymore... until you get the BurgerBot+ helper.

* BurgerBot doesn't realize that the thief is going to steal the order. But this has the advantage that the thief's tip contributes to BurgerBot's meter when you then click on him. If that makes sense...

* I added the escape key to bring up the options menu both in the game and on the map screen based on another steam forum request :-)

* It's the dog that's requesting all of the treats. The dog has gotten bolder in Burger Shop 3. But if it's sending a bad dietary message then maybe the dog should only request safer foods like cucumbers, blueberries, and strawberries?

Thanks for the quick reply!

- Makes sense; glad to hear it's intentional haha!

- Again, makes sense and thank you for clarifying- I haven't yet unlocked BB+.

- That makes sense, thank you for explaining.

- Thank you!

- I don't really care that much about what it is the dog requests, so much as I do feel that having the dog be able to request any "people food" needlessly complicates the mechanic. That said I have a somewhat specific speed-based playstyle so I'll always be a bit abrasive to anything that complicates things :P just wanted to provide my food-for-thought in terms of gameplay balancing. That said I also wouldn't complain if the choices were more health-friendly!

*Disagree cookies should be on a plate- my hands can only take so much clicking! Having to put it on a plate would make the dessert levels even harder imo.
*Different plates could be fun!
*The OJ is a little weird, but at the same time I appreciate being able to make it without a machine. Maybe just needing one orange would be a compromise?
*I don't personally find the sweet shops items too similar, but I do find the pasta very hard to differentiate.
Very organized and well thought out list!

I agree with a lot of what's in here - my two cents - some of the sweets items look very similar, and it's hard to discern between them. I'm also not a fan of mixing breakfast and lunch/dinner.
