Zone Transition Failed

I just started the game. Finished the tutorial get to my Apartment and try to use the elevator to go talk to the boss of the station and I get the stated error every time, no matter which floor I try to go to and it boots me to the title screen.

I tried looking this up on my own and every fix I found has failed.
Its not too many save files since I only have one.
Its not my anti-virus since auto-save is turned off and its still happening.
Game integrity verified and its still happening.
Config.dat isn't the problem either.


Those are all the fixes I have found, none of them are working for me, any suggestions?

Edit: Adding to this starting a fresh save in case something went wrong on character creation - ending the intro now just puts me to an endless black screen before I get to the tutorial, consistent if I skip the intro or sit through them talking.

Maybe you got some missing files. Try verifying file integrity. I encountered this several times only after I abused quick load and quick save.

Apologies I probably worded it wrong but thats what I meant when I said game integrity verified.

I guess your machine have compatibility issue or something? The game's pretty old and your machine is too modern or something. I see this pops up in Project Zomboid as well.

Did you try uninstalling whatever version of "Microsoft XNA Framework..."
And then install the latest off the Microsoft site.

That fixes things for some people.

Although you say you have Autosave turned off, I would still create an exception for the game's folder, under;
..\Steam\...\Underrail

and for the save folder under:
..\My Documents\My Games\Underrail

Especially if you are using Windows Defender.
