Where is a good place to buy armor parts?
I always have trouble finding good parts of high quality, my current components i've collected are 80-100 quality, but I can't find any good ceramic plates.

Try Core city merchants or Tchort institute vendors. It is pure RNG though. I never used ceraplates as they are too heavy. Burrower carapace is decent as an option, additional heat resistance is never a bad thing.

Is burrower carapace similar to ceramic in terms of anti-bullet? If it's not much worse I might use it, having a diversified range of damage resistances sounds nice.

Gunfire is the smallest of your problems in Underrail when it comes to enemies. Vests get 200% threshold bonus anyway. You can experiment on crafting - I'd recommend getting a regenerative vest + burrower carapace + supersteel sheet + blast cloth to make an ultimate defensive tactical vest. It will have pretty high armor penalty though, which means worse mobility and stealth performance. My SMG guy got just a vest with supersteel sheet and black cloth overcoat.

Armor penalty isn't a problem for me, I'm a tanky character. Also, does 200% mean it's triple the amount? It looks like the game considers 100% to be double, and 200% to be triple.

It's +200% and +100%, not just 200% and 100%.

That is why it's triple and double, respectively.

Right. If you've got 13 threshold it means it will be 39 against bullets. Get yourself some nice supersteel striders (boots with spring mod), damage resistance/threshold from boots is added to your defence as well.

What does blast cloth do for you?
bati Jan 11, 2016 @ 7:59am
It lowers the damage from explosions.

That's what I thought. Not all that useful compared to kevlar cloth, is it? Obviously I spend more time getting shot at than exploded.

Blast cloth is nice when you're playing a human minesweeper (aka 3-PER character with zero traps skill), though.

Blaine, that vendor north and down from the SouthGateStation rail platform sells armor components up to 87 quality (I bought several types of cloth in the 80 to 87 range from him).

I like the idea of Blast cloth ever since I was ambushed by 2 Ironhead grenade throwers while walking to Rail Crossing Station. Wish there was a "Knife proof" cloth or a "psi proof" cloth because those are my two main causes of death. Guns? I've only died once to a gun, Black Eel shot me with no warning for 200+ damage aimed critical shot when I walked into the wrong warehouse in the Junkyard docks. The North warehouse? Fine. The one next to it? Shop (no sign or anything, just is). South warehouse? INSTANT DEATH
