After the mushroom forest I recommend going north and then straight east. You will encounter the Faceless there, and if you've been helpful to them they will not be hostile, giving you a chance to explore and pick up some of the massive amount of items in the warehouses there. In order to protect yourself from Creeping Dread you can find hatches in the complex that leads down a small safe room, where you can wait it out. Yes, that means waiting almost a minute for it to wear off. Why not 10 or 15 seconds? Because then it wouldn't really waste your time, silly!
In order to get to Tchort you need to;
Repair the gate:
Which requires 3 canisters of hydraulic fluid, 2 large canisters of something-other fluid, a whole bunch of hydraulic pistons (can't remember how many you need, but they are all over the place). If you're not good at Mechanics you're going to need a AI core to repair a bot to let him do it, and in order to get a AI core you need to clean out Arke station.
Get rid of the goo in front of the gate:
For this you need that mushroom thing mykardia or whatever it's called, and then convert it in a machine which is somewhere in the Hollow Earth complex. I think it's one or two maps to the east of your starting point. It needs power however, which leads to another step.
Keycard to enter the Mutagen Tanks:
In the residential block you can find Maria Hope keycard, which you will need to open the gate.
Restore power:
To the north of the Faceless base lies Arke Power Station, which you need to clear in order restore power to the different areas. You can only restore power to a limit, but there are four areas in particular; the warehouse, the residential block, the Hollow Earth complex, and Mutagen Tank A. In the warehouses you can find some fluid or a piston, in the residential you find the keycard, restoring power to Hollow means you can open the Tchort gate but also lets you inside that medical facility where you can turn that mushroom thing into a gas grenade in order to clear the good. So when you first clear out Arke, give power to the warehouses and residential block, and then after clearing them both head back to Arke and restore power to Mutagen and Hollow.
After you do all this, head to the gate, open it, and get ready to bite the pillow because Tchort likes to go in dry.
I have problably forgotten some detail, but this is basically Deep Caverns.
of my most beloved parts of Underrail, electric floortiles, finally reverted power
and now I'm reading, I missed an AI core. And I was sure I hiked everywhere.
Guess it's time to take another deep breath and go for one more round of
Derp Caverns Walking Simulator
Don't get me wrong. I really like Underrail. But. Hell!
Deep Caversn are, quite simply put, the worst area in this gamem and among the worst of any game out there.
Also, I really think there needs to be a few more hints. Like how was I suppoed to know the last piece I need to repair the gate was hidden in the labrynth?
Finally, was there any hints about how to obtain the bio grenades? The only reason I know what to do is going to the Underrail wiki. That doesn't seem like good game design. How are you supposed to randomly know to get a large build up of spore infection to get to an area that can get you an item to create the bio grenade?
Now I'm having my own problems with Tchort. Throughout the whole game my knife throwing build has been viable but it seems I won't be able to defeat Tchort with it. I solved the mutagen puzzle, TNT'd the mutagen tanks and prepared like 80 MK V grenades. Problem is that throwing knives do ♥♥♥♥ all against tchort or the tentacles. I have about 250 pts in throwing knives and all the damage perks and they do like 10 damage at best against tchort. The poison helps a bit but it gets nullified with the crazy HP regen. Grenades are a little bit better but still really weak and they have a 2 turn cool down. I watched a couple youtube videos of the fight and they really made me want to both laugh and cry at the pathetic damage I do in comparison. I see people with sniper or SMG builds putting out like 1k damage + in one turn meanwhile I'm lucky to put out 300 every two turns. I guess it's time to start over but I'll wait a few months. Not really looking forward to going through DC anytime soon lol. I really really liked playing as a sneaky ninja but throwing knives get very little love in the game in comparison to other builds. It needs something like Expose Weakness if it's going to be viable in the end game. And grenades can put out some pretty decent AOE damage but are still very lacking when it comes to single target DPS. Not sure how to fix that because they are extremely powerful in the mid game so lowering the CD would probably make them too OP, but in the end game they really lack the punch of some of the other high damage weapons.
