Stuck in Deep Caverns *Spoilers*
I am trying to find a hydraulic pump drive shaft for the large gates north of the Tchort base. I have gotten the bio grenades and just seem to be stuck on this part.

I apparently have 3 in my inventory, (2 of which are the same one?) but they dont work.
HS-78 x2 and HS-90 Hydraulic Pump Drive Shaft.

Can anyone tell me what map this drive shaft is on?

There is an 89 model in the worm tunnels far south. It is south of the housing complex and the warehouses. The entrance to the worm tunnels is at a watery area, and then south to a rathound cave.

Thanks!

I'm in the tunnels now, lets hope I find it :)
Edit: Found it in same room as pillars, that seems to be the only reason to go down there (good reason though obviously since it's part of the main storyline :P)

Huh. Thanks for the tip. Uh, how do you use the chemical organizer to get rid of the biomass on the door?

You throw the bio-grenade at the ground in front of the gate. Gotta power up the research station first and use the pulsating roots (boss?) drop to get the grenades from the research station.

Pulsating Roots drop? Does that mean I need to kill a crap ton of shrooms in the mushroom forest till I get that?

Once i got 40 stacks of spores on me, a cutscene occured which dropped me in a special section of mushroom forest. I fought through fungal awfulness till i reached a room that had tons of enemies and a "Pulsating Root" which had to be destroyed. Once i destroyed the outer layer, you can grab its heart, which also makes the fungal turrets stop reviving.

I did not know that at all o.o. I just kept waiting for them to dissipate and now with a biohazard suit just wandering about. Thanks!

Well how about an info trade then lol. I desperately need supplies. I feel like a castaway down here, and i have many supplies in my house back in core city. I have found the elevator, and i have found the power plant. The issue is as a pure psi user the power plant is super deadly to me, and spits out infinite robots. How can i go about starting up the power?
Fxoyian Dec 26, 2015 @ 11:36pm
For the power I honestly suggest spamming out electrokinesis if you have it and running away if battle starts. Otherwise, work on stealth - hopefully you got a cloaking field generator + some black clothe armor, those things really help and just time dodging around the cameras. Also WATCH OUT for the industrial bots, those things are brutal. As for supplies, I suggest farming the south quandrant before the giant worms for mindshrooms and lesser beetles and fish and trading those to Leo.

Leo has nothing i need, the issue with the power plant is that i dont know where to go or what to do.

Oh. First area that you enter, stay in vents. Hunt around till you locate the card - then head down east via vents, the vent above the plasma sentries should net you nicely. Pop out in assembly area and IGNORE THE VENTS unless you want cryo death. Head east till you get to the bottom and find another card - this card should unlock a lockpad in first area enter that will allow you to get another card that once heading back to east to the other zone will allow you to open up access to the assembly area. That should unlock all portions of the power plant because there should be another card in that last area. Hopefully this scattered explaination is of some use.

Ah the power plant, what you need to do is grab a chain of keycards. From what I recall it went

Entrance map - entertainment keycard on north west side of map (go through vents to get it)
Then go to entertainment room in north east and into entertainment room vents to the map east.
On east map pick up janitors keycard (or something like that) all the way east (again going through lots of vents)
Go back to entrance map
Entrance map - go to south west side open door grab something else go to next map.
From there it's a bit of the same with grabbing various keycards and going back and forth.

The bots aren't that hard if you initiate combat as much as you can when you know you have to fight them since you can generally kill them in the first round with electric + telekentic proxy + punch (sometimes proxy & punch is enough to kill by itself).
The main thing is avoid getting multiple at a time if possible, if you really need to then use adrenaline and what not to do as much as you can before shields go up.

Speaking of deep caverns, is there any way to get rid of the Creeping Dread debuff, or am I supposed to fight a unending amount of respawning enemies?

You run into one of the hatches or out of the central map areas and wait for it to wear off.

Leo tells you this when you meet him, he's like 3 maps west of the main faceless base.
