Life regeneration

after one battle my health auto regenerated to 100% while I was doing nothing.

Could it be some older effect of previously used medicine (while I used medicine/drugs really long time before this fight)
Or is there other condition that allows my char to self renerate (by keeping something specific in the inventory) ?

After that I sold a lot of stuff, and entered friendly zones (like SGS and Junkyard) but the health regeneration did not kick in again.

What sources of HP regeneration are in this game anyway? (besides drugts and Bandages)

You will automatically regenerate health if you are above 85% of your maximum.

There are also a few items that increase health regeneration apart from health hypos and bandages, the one that immediately comes to mind is the regenerative vest, which is a component of any armor that requires a vest (Tactical vests, riot armor, and metal armor) and will automatically regenerate your HP while using up battery power.

Ah, the info of auto-regen if HP > 85% would be it. I really lost only few HPs before. Now I have 84% HP.
Regen Vest? Sounds good. It will probably consume batteries, but later maybe batteries won't be an issue (now I am saving them for hacking)

There's a few different kinds of vests with various bonuses so it might depends on what you want from your armor, I haven't ever used them myself. I do know that they require Electronics and biology skill to craft in addition to tailoring, so the requirements are pretty high. It's probably easier to attain if you're going crafting and are running a psionic character as you'll want electronics and biology to craft psi amplifiers.
