Reddit far-left are attacking Underrail

It's kinda surprising and concerning to see nobody talking about this so here we go. First off, I love the game and have even 100%'ed it. Despite its long list of poor design choices, it's still a good game with lots of charm and personality. That said, I could never in good conscience recommend it to anyone. Styg, the game's developer, is an alt-right moron who has made several stupid and bigoted remarks. Don't believe me? Join the Underrail discord server and type any slur into the search bar. You'll see the kind of community he fosters. This is made infinitely worse by the fact that there is unironic Nazi content in the DLC (some might say this is a stretch but trust me, Lemuria, Atlantis and Hyperborea in general are Esoteric Nazi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dogwhistles). For the longest, I had hoped for this to be no more than satire but Styg's remarks proved otherwise. It's kinda funny, Styg likes to be unironically homophobic on Twitter but at the same time really prides on the fact that his game is very true to classic Fallout, completely oblivious to the fact that classic Fallout was made by a gay man. Do what you will with this information, but do remember that you are helping this loser make money when you buy/recommend this game to someone else.

I am a high school teacher and although I am a straight cis man I am the advisor for the LGBTQ club because I get along with the students well and they know my classroom is a safe space for them.

I can’t even explain to you how many of them are play BG3 and how that game is getting them into this genre. We are already seeing and will continue to see LGBTQ fans flock to the genre because of this game. We need to make sure they are welcomed with open arms and love.

Make the DEI extremist weep, buy more Underrail.

Same goes for discord. All those echo-chambers have no effect on the game, no matter where they're leaning on that silly and meaningless directional spectrum.
Just enjoy your media and never engage with its audience unless you want to be disappointed or subjected to things you disagree with.
That or grow some thicker skin.

Even if I wasn't of the opinion that Underail was unremarkable as far as CRPGs go, BG3 is so far beyond it on every conceivable level that trashing it makes Styg look like an idiot. You'd have to be a truly petty and vapid reactionary to dismiss it as "slop" just because it gives you gay options, especially when what you're offering in its place is a Fallout 2 clone with none of the charm, wit, humor, or interesting setting.
