mid-late gearing for Psi....
My psi build seems to work pretty well, and I'm moving into building my gear for mid-late game. I've got sprint and nimble feats...

For chest armor, seems like a contest between an infused rathound leather chest for the 10% crit chance and a psionic overcoat - tac vest w/ psi carapace. Probably keep one of each around.

For boots, it's a bit more confusing. Obviously I'm looking @ infused leather tabi boots, but the quest is what's going to get me the best mileage, so to speak. Cave hopper looks fairly tempting, between the point in agility, a decent boost to dodge/evade (which I'm heavily invested in), and reducing the cooldown of sprint from 10t to 5t. Siphoner boot slow immunity seems... much less useful? I haven't run across many slows in the game, mostly acid blob root effects, which I presume that wouldn't do anything for. I suppose ancient rathound leather is a candidate for the cold/heat threshold improvement? Any recommendations on what the strongest contenders are here, if not cave hopper?

Aside from those, I'm using a universal psi headband w/ muffler and stable amplifier for the crit dmg boost and psi cost reduction, doesn't look to be anything else which would compete with that.

If you're not using stealth much then you might find Super Steel boots with springs to be pretty good. I use them now that Infused Siphoner leather is no longer ridiculously overpowered. Obviously if you're using stealth all the time you should look at tabis instead.

Acid blob effects, like those from mutated creatures, are immobilizations.

If you're using a crit build then go right ahead with the Infused Rathound leather armor, but especially at higher difficulty settings, direct damage isn't all that impressive and critting becomes much less helpful. On Dominating, in fact, full psi builds switch roles and Tranquility becomes more powerful than Psychosis for a change, so stacking crit is less and less important. Still, if you're rolling Psychosis then by all means stack crit to the sky.

Just want to point out infused rathound leather armor only increase weapon critical chance; it does not work on combat utilities and psi abilities. You can verify this by look at your status ("C" key).

@destroyor - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. That's a bad tooltip then. It simply says "increases crit chance 10%". There are other gear/feats which affect crit which specify which types of attacks (melee, ranged) they affect, so for this one to not specify which things it affects probably should be fixed. Thanks for pointing this out. Psionic overcoat it is, then, and seems that nimble was mostly a waste of a feat for a psi build.

@dergefata - I am a stealthy build, so yup, it's definitely about tabi boots for me, but it's unclear if any of the alternatives offer better benefits than the infused hopper tabi's- that I think is my big question at this point.

Well, infused pig leather gives you +con and also +30 carrying capacity. Situationally that could be helpful, but if you're wearing tabis you're really just wearing them for the stealth. Anything else is icing on your cake.
