How does one change/install them?

I've bought an extra part size 1 battery for my Aegis Patroller and an extra engine and I've no idea what to do with them. Dragging (and dropping the parts into jet ski slots) doesn't work, clicking on them doesn't work, talking to NPCs (Tony at the expedition's camp or to Ray in Core City) doesn't bring up any options either. I've tried the same thing with the jet skis bought in Ray's store. Same problem.

Well, you need first to click on jet ski, open their inventory, and then just drag&drop.

"Dragging doesn't work." > yes, I've clicked on the jet ski and than dragged and dropped the parts to their designated slots. It didn't work.

You have to remove a part on the jetski first, dragging to replace doesn't work. That's how it was for me.

Alright, I feel stupid....

So one is not supposed to click on the icon of the Jet Ski while riding it, but park it / dismount, and than right click it to open the menu to change its parts. Managed to discover it by accidentally right clicking over it.

when the floor height is the same level as yours.

and in shallow water.
