Your House on Core City.
I have one question:
Does buying security for your house is important (Do you get raid)? or it's just cosmetic?

Now as for the house, I am disappointed...
Cause you get it close to the end of the game, so buying stuff for it or even equipping it with stuff is pointless by then.
Specially if you are forced to work for the Cult of Tchort to progress the story line.

Not to mention I have my apartment in South Gate Station full with stuff I collected for crafting and trapping after many hours of game play (including the Expedition dlc). So having to take every single item from the apartment to my new home is annoying if you don't have The Juice .

To make the house more meaningful, we should get it from the start of the game or after completing 2 or 4 of the main quest lines, so we get invested into getting it fixed + fully stock with stuff we scavenge.

Move the house if needed to a poor location like Rail Crossing to make it lore friendly.

What do you guys think of Core City Home?
Also again, does buying security is important? or is just cosmetic?

Buying security is purely cosmetic. Yeah the home is useless ecept for the crafting tables but i really really liked buying different things and improving my home and make it more or less beautiful and so on

I agree, making the house look pretty is nice and the crafting table bonus is cool.

But once again, by the time you get the house, you are about to beat the game or have already done most of the side missions.

Also thanks for telling me that buying security for your home is just cosmetic (now I am even more disappointed, I expected to find maybe random punk corpses every time I come back or something).
I bought full security anyway, theres no point in saving your money so

But muh 26000 charrons jet-ski

Also, think of the house as final crafting buff to craft your end-game gear before actually going down to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I fully upgraded everything in the house on my current playthrough, except for the graffiti removal. Since I'm doing the whole FreeDrones questline, I figured it would be appropriate to keep their tag up on the outside of my property.

I wish hard difficulty has 1/4 value of normal cash rather than 1/2 tbh
Dominating economy is so nice and much more logical, but the enemies number and scaling are pretty annoying or outright impossible for handful of build

Well, seems burglars exists. I have returned to my still empty home and found some bastard trying to kill me with a knife. :D

I think that was part of a quest line or side quest if I do remember well.
(Forgot who you need to get angry to send some one to kill you in your home).

This post is old btw.

No, house burglar is just a random event introduced semi-recently. You might be thinking of Aran the ninja who can ambush the player in a few places to get his hands on Acorn.
In my case that burglar was dead on arrival, killed by turrets. So I've just looted his corpse.

Since the thread has been resurrected I will answer the OP with new information. It used to be useless but now buying security measures has uses, although ultimately it is more of a money sink than anything, the house is basically a big customizable trophy.

Look, it's been a LONG time since I played the game, I do want to try the latest dlc, but I have been busy with other games.

What I remember (if I am wrong, sorry).
First you need to complete quests for any of the mayor factions in CORE CITY.
After that, you will be given the house for "Free".

The only problem... it's early stages is dog poop (the entrance is blocked), so you will need a LOT of money to make the house usable (unlock rooms, buy furniture, buy workbenches).
If you think of rushing it, it's not worth it, since you need the money for upgrades / gear / recipes. etc.

You are given the option to move all of your stuff from SGS instantaneously for a small fee.
