Bio Vest

I'm looking to craft some armor for my eventual trip to the DC and someone mentioned having bio resistance would be helpful in that area. Other than hoping it becomes available in any of the shops, is there a known location for a top quality (or close to it) bio vest?

I don't think there's a static (guarantee) location for bio vest - Q164 bio vest will grant you Bio resist/threshold of 48%/19.

There are other options tho. If you finish either Free Drone or Protectorate Quest line you'll get chemical assault armor (Acid: 80% / 35 and Bio: 50% / 20) which is very useful in DC.

Infused Heartbreaker Leather armor could grant bio resist anywhere from 4x ~ 6x%, depending on your quality of Heartbreaker Serpent Skin and Super Steel fiber. Infused Heartbreaker tabi easily reach 2x% giving you roughly at least 60%+ Bio resist. Combine this set w/ Aegis Trooper Helmet you can be immune to bio damage.

I figured that would be the case for the bio vest. Both of those armor options are viable, I'll admit, but I play a psi build and I've been crafting riot armor w/shield for most of the playthrough. The key for my armor has been psi beetle carapaces for the shield component due to the psi bonuses given. I'm not looking for complete bio immunity, just some bio resistance while keeping psi bonuses intact. The rest of the playthrough will be as Deadpool would say; maximum effort. :)

Guess you are doing merchant runs - Tchortist, Oculus, Core City Oligarch and Protectorate would be your best bet.

Right now, Core City Oligarch is my only option out of those four (CoreTech to be exact; they had a lot of electronic goodies, especially headband components). I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my first meeting with Abram, so Oculus is out. I joined Free Drones, so Protectorate is out. I'm about to head down the elevator to DC, but I got excited and started popping Tchortists early, heh heh, so their shops are out as well.

Free Drones usually sells high quality vest and other leather armor materials, so they're your best bet. You could also check Expedition shop / ferrymen, but they usually sells around 140Q tops

From personal experience Free Drones have crappy quality everything except leather stuff which could be high quality (Black Cloth, Padding) but it doesn't hurt to include them in your merchant runs.

Er ... I'm not sure how you could do merchant runs before going down to DC because the gates are locked when you turned Tchortists hostile?

At this point, I might have to start over if I can't get back inside the Tchortist building. I got to the elevator that goes down into the DC, but I wasn't sure if I had everything I needed, so i used that escape route from the mission where I have to track that Rassophore down and bring him back to get out. I'm pretty sure I screwed myself on that bit, but ♥♥♥♥ it. I can always start over. Wouldn't be the first time, lol.

You'll have to restart unless you have an earlier save before you turned Tchortist hostile.

You could also just ♥♥♥♥ it and get in the elevator anyways. You'll probably able to find decent bio suit down there, and with big brain energy and enough F9, your psi build should dominate anything under without psi beetle carapace (when exploring certain high bio area)

Sounds good. Haven't tried getting back into the temple yet, but it sounds like my current game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Oh well, ♥♥♥♥ happens, lol. At least I can try out the import character finally (assuming I don't forget to leave my current save alone and don't delete it). Thanks for all the replies, guys. :)
