Found a cool way to avoid mines
If you place a force field down and immediately disarm a mine you can time it just right and blow up the mine without dying or taking damage. I got stuck at eddy's house in the junkyard and I thought of this cool idea. Awesome ability!

Or you can remotely detonate it with a fireball (without even finding it first). Just saying…

damn that would be faster too, I tried shooting it, but that didn't work, so I didn't think you could attack it. Thanks for the helpful tip!

This really helped me out a lot, I use Psi abilities and guns I put 5 into traps just so I could spot them better and was quite disappointed when you couldn't just shoot the mines like in any other game so this helped out a LOT. Thank you!

Note that non-psi characters can also use grenades to remotely detonate mines. I like to carry a few spare cheap grenades just for this purpose. It doesn't work for bear traps, but bear traps tend to be less annoying to step on.

As for detecting traps, note that Motion Tracking Goggles and other sources of detection (ex: Stuffed Bat) also help with detecting traps.

You can also use electrokinetic imprint to trigger a trap remotely (any trap).
The downside, however, is that electrokinetic imprint itself will backfire onto you.
Still, getting hit by your own electrokinetic imprint is often preferable to being hit by said trap.
