Shark Jet Ski
I visited Ray's Jet Ski Shop in Core City's dock and saw the Shark jet ski. Is it worth the 25K coins to buy it? Plus the added cost of buying the Harp-1 rockets? Raising 25K coins is a tedious job: defeating pirates, stripping down their skis, hauling them back to camp and then to Ray's. Ray doesn't carry that much coins; thus, several trips to his shop become necessary. I don't have any Mercantile skills, but I don't mind running back and forth. But in the end, would having the Shark jet ski simplify my game (Expedition DLC)?

No its not worth it. I've never used it I just used the aegis patroler and finished expedition without problems.
And if you want money you can find A jetsky in the black sea and sell it for like 20.000

Most of the "premium" jet-ski aren't that important imo. There's only few forced ski combat. You could usually skip them by moving around the edge of the tile (since most of the Serpent are in the middle), or just straight up run. You should be able to outrun them in combat.
After some time, you'll be able to enjoy improved jet ski for free anyway, albeit without rocket, at least it has good enough speed and stability. And since you're murdering pirates, just put their jet's item on your aegis patroller.
In the end, those jet ski are just money dump if you don't wanna pimp your crib, or buying super steel
I spend around 20.000 charons ore more just on my house... got kinda addicted and sad when I bought everything

Thank you all for your inputs. I'll stop the jet ski salvaging run. Aegis patroller? How do I get one? Is it a pirate drop?
i thhink you get it while playing the main story(of the expedition)

You're right! I vaguely remember about being given one, but apparently not at this time. I'll just have to wait for it. Thanks again.

When in doubt, just sleep.
Also, kinda agree with the house. It's not satisfying at all :/

Go steal a Protectorate Cruiser, they're vastly superior to the Aegis Patroller. You can find one at Port Zenith in Core city, one at an protectorate outpost near The Rig, and one on The Rig itself.

How did you manage to steal a Protectorate Cruiser? I don't have any skill points in thievery (Pickpocking). And won't this makes enemy with the Protectorate? How do you manage to get it back to the Dead Sea? BTW where's The Rig?

The cruiser in Port Zenith is manned by a Protectorate Marine so you might need some luck shooting him off or possibly destroy the cruiser if you're using firearms and such. Becareful as this is a fairly well-armed and defended location.

Alternatively you can steal another that's west of The Rig on an outpost manned by 4(?) Protectorate troops with 2 auto-turrets.

The other one The Rig requires stealth and picklocking so that's out of your abilities, and no, you won't be an enemy of Protectorate except for the troops that see you in their cruiser but otherwise are pretty avoidable by far.

As for The Rigs location, it's directly south a bit east out of the Core City docks. From the Black Sea, it's about 8 zone-ish west from the Black Sea gates and slightly south. And yes you can bring it back and forth from the Black Sea to Underrail waters etc etc.

It's not worth the hassle. Just use aegis patrolled, steal some engine from Pirate and pimp your ride
And also the rockets of the shark aren't very accurate

Again, thank you all for your inputs. I've just gotten the Aegis Patroller (as a reward for rescuing Prof. Oldfield); it is a superior jet ski than the one I currently have. I have already abandoned the idea of buying a Shark and the Harp-1 rockets. My guess is that stealing a Protectorate jet ski will only create a war between them and me. When the Expedition DLC is completed, I will have to return to the main game sequence. What will I do with the jet ski then?
you can keep it if you want and explore
you could sell it but you dont need so much money so that would be pointless

Your choice of Jet ski really depends on your build.
Generally for range char you want a jet ski with high stability
For melee char you want a jet ski with high maneuverability
The to hit chance for these build using the right jet ski (whether high end or not) is very significant. More expensive jet ski = better jet ski engine/suspension slots = better hit chance. This is especially noticeable if you don't have Improved Naval combat (need AGI 7) riding junk jet.
For psi, hit chance is not an issue, so you either go for max speed (running away at the end of every turn so enemies are out of range) or max cover. I opted for max speed but YMMV.

As for Protectorate Cruiser the most straight forward way to obtain it would be killing everyone at Port Zenith (the two maps). Yes Protectorate will be hostile but they don't really have a large presence in the game. You'll be fine as long as you stay away from Fort Apogee, Upper Underrail.

You can look up stat on various jet skis here:
https://www.underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Jet_Skis
As you can see Protectorate Cruiser is on par w/ Aegis Patroller so it isn't really *that* much better. The draw for Cruiser is that you can get it even before you start expedition.

Edited: *correction* Just tested - if you kill everyone at Port Zenith Fort Apogee won't be hostile. Very strange as the game seems to treat them as two separate faction (Protectorate Marine + outpost vs. Fort Apogee) just like Black Eel (The Rig vs. Junkyard Black Eel).
