A low ap attack in your other weapon slot (glove or knife usually) can help, especially if you can stun, trap or incapacitate to avoid counter attack.
In theory high resolve should help, but I've yet to try this (and doubt it would be effective on higher difficulties).
Regardless the next-turn attacks, "heavy attack" build most likely won't be able to do much after they wasted so much AP on peeling PSP, burst is probably the only "cheapest" option for it, in which crossbow and at least half of melee build won't be able to compete.
I just know having used Pseudo-Spatial Projection on my own character, it always seems mega less effective that when the enemy uses it, lol. They always tear mine down with daggers, fists, or just a plain old burst attack. Tried it against Balor and he just one shot me right through it, too!
Otherwise yeah, running away, stalling / kiting, tossing a flashbang and then stealthing etc.
