pseudo-spatial Projection counter
What's the good way to deal with this skill as heavy hitting build, I.e sledgehammer, and sniper? Other than grenade at least.

Kiting, delay tactics, stun. If you are also psi, then psi cognitive interruption, slow and a bunch of other stuff are all useful for surviving until it wears off.

A low ap attack in your other weapon slot (glove or knife usually) can help, especially if you can stun, trap or incapacitate to avoid counter attack.

In theory high resolve should help, but I've yet to try this (and doubt it would be effective on higher difficulties).

So it seems that there's no reliable counter other than stalling :cozycastondeath:

Having high alpha damage primary weapon does not prevent you from using a low AP secondary weapon to eat through PSP stacks quickly.
You could run away until the effect wears off, throw a frag grenade or burst at it with an AR

Some build doesn't have the luxury of low AP. I.e strength-heavy melee still can't remove PSP stack in a turn without psi haste, implying they somehow has unarmed sidearm. And next turn they'll die from the usual mental breakdown combo

Well, is it really any different from that enemy just opening with mental breakdown combo..?

Something about their cast priority. Most lurker I've seen always cast PSP as their first cast in combat. There's also Goliath, which although doesn't have mental breakdown, still able to deal heavy damage in 1 turn

Regardless the next-turn attacks, "heavy attack" build most likely won't be able to do much after they wasted so much AP on peeling PSP, burst is probably the only "cheapest" option for it, in which crossbow and at least half of melee build won't be able to compete.

Swap to your fists and punch them 6 times with your lower AP attacks maybe? If that works to quickly tear down the multiple stacks of the projection, etc. Not something I tried when I suffered in Expedition as a hammer user, though.

I just know having used Pseudo-Spatial Projection on my own character, it always seems mega less effective that when the enemy uses it, lol. They always tear mine down with daggers, fists, or just a plain old burst attack. Tried it against Balor and he just one shot me right through it, too!

Otherwise yeah, running away, stalling / kiting, tossing a flashbang and then stealthing etc.

Our own PSP is less effective because we fight 3+ people, that's a lot more potential attack/turn
