Jet ski abilities
Bought a plasma leviator, the chance to hit is really low on its ability, how does the cth scale? is it based on guns skill (i dont have that)?

Yes its based on your character skill with guns. If you want to waste a feat you can take Versatility.

eeeh that kinda sucks, shouldve been based on stability IMO

There are naval combat feats you can learn from NPCs that boost jet ski weapon hit rate for people who haven't specced into guns, but I can't say how effective they are since I never used them personally.

Only if you join the pirates (which i dont want to)

Yeah most of them come from the pirates, unfortunately. But you can learn the first one at expedition camp.

I know but its basically not noticable, you need the pirate one if you have 0 guns it seems
It's pointless for guns based builds anyway. Wasted like a day to get 28k, bought plazma too and... surprise - you are still killing ppl with you guns and if ppl are able to hit you - you will die anyway. Shamans can kill you with magic, pirates can kill you with guns\grenades\crossbows. Armor is too weak plus no shield available on the jetski.
I met 3 pirates and they blew up me in 1 turn while I was on my free jetski. Bought Plazma Leviator and got blasted the same in 1 turn. I can kill 4-6 enemies per turn with AR build so no point to kill 1 enemy with plazma per turn.
Need to have a penalty for guns usage at least for 50% I guess. Otherwise its no point to buy these good jetski.

Ah crap - I guess I won't be learning the remaining naval combat feats on this playthrough as I sided with the expedition (despite my earlier reservations).

Also, since we're talking about Jet Skis (expensive ones at that), can I buy an expensive jet ski (like the Devastator), import my character into a new game, and still be able to own the jet ski? Or do I have to buy it all over again - was wondering about that.

Hello again, Auron!

I can't say if importing lets you keep a jet ski (I would guess no), but here's an insider tip for you:

Inside Joint Security, at the inner docking bay, you can find a Reef Glider jet ski. The Reef Glider itself is pretty crappy and needs a new battery/engine to make it run, BUT if you have a solid mercantile skill you can drive it (or tow it with the freighter) to Ray's jet ski shop and he will pay you an absolute assload of charons for it. I think the top mercantile check gets you an insane 40k charons. It's essentially a jet ski you can trade in for whichever other one you want.

I was wondering about the ownership thing since you are given a physical key when given proper ownership of a jetski.

If you cannot import, then buying an expensive jetski seems to serve little purpose other than being a cash sink.

Ah right, the keys... maybe? I'd be interested to see if that works in any case. There might be additional triggers to ownership though.

I wouldn't be surprised - but that also makes me wonder about the home ownership in Core City if you have the key.

yeah the fact that you cant use a shield and the fact that your evasion goes to ♥♥♥♥ is pretty bad to, basically only tin can characters with 95% mech res and super high con and HP can properly battle in them, you just seem to die super fast, maybe the better ones should have more than 50% and 45% coverage? like 85 to 90

You use whatever combat skill you have on the ski, and it gets modded by the stability. If you are a melee, get to the enemy and beat him up.
Unless I have to fight on a ski, I prefer to disembark and fight there. I boarded the native attack ships two squares north of the camp on the sea, which works fine. I tried it from the ski, too, but you need several AE attacks to get anywhere.
