This build can do the following:
Hacking (130) without tools to pass highest check in the game at a terminal.
Lockpicking (135) with Jacknife and Mark 3 tools to pass highest check.
Traps (95) with Trapper Belt can use any trap type. Can disarm almost all traps you find.
Throwing (51) is good enough to usually not blow yourself up.
I prefer Mercantile (105) to pass all checks and gain access to all high end vendor inventories. You can instead put those into Persuasion if you want, (110) is highest check.
For crafting, with bench bonus in your house:
Mechanics (159) to craft your guns with highest quality components you are likely to find.
Electronics (150) to craft shield with highest quality components you are likely to find.
Chemistry (112) to craft all grenade and mine types up to Mark 5.
Biology (80) to craft all the commonly used, non-psi, meds.
Tailoring (140) to craft Tabi boots and/or Leather armor.
Guns is of course maxed. And you still have enough for effective Stealth of (79). With gear you can get that up around 200 which is plenty high enough.
Now when the DLC comes out you get an extra 5 levels of skill points. The only ones needing to be raised would be Guns. That leaves you another 175 skill points to spread around. With those you can bring you Throwing up around effective (100) and never miss your target tile. And you can put a bit more into stealth to ease the burden of having high bonuses on your gear. Or you can get Merchantile and Persuasion up to (105) and (110).
And if you get really lucky on very high quality crafting components you can put a few points in to bring yourself up to the requirement.
This is the "new-ish" player friendly version of this build where I have it set to 5 con for a bit of a hp safety margin. I would put it at 3 and either bump Perception to 14 or even go to 7 int, letting you hit the same effective crafting totals with less investment, freeing up some skill points to go into other skills.
Anyway, hope this helps you with your idea.
Note: When the DLC is released the character tool I linked will let you setup all the new stuff and plan the build right to level 30. For now, only us people in the closed beta can see that stuff :)
As for me? I'm going with a bit of a sub-optimal build, for fun. It is an energy pistol build that has very high dodge and evasion (with 12 Agility).
Having previously tested super high dodge and evasion on Dominating, and finding it to be completely useless in Deep Caverns, I will be playing on Hard, to see how it holds up in the new content on that difficulty setting.
I'll end up buffed to around 900 Dodge and 1500 Evasion.
I'm hoping my existing char might be able to level up for all the excess XP he got and get some stealth to bomb the mutagen tanks. Might be able to finish the game then before starting a new character.
Does the tool update on releaseday? Like, is it already updated for you beta guys? That is how I understood you
Thank you for your thorough explanation. How often did you finish the game?
Yes the tool is up to date with all the DLC content, for those of us in the Beta.
I've been through the game on 8 different builds. My 800 evasion 1400 dodge crossbow user failed miserably in Deep Caverns on Dominating difficulty. The build I gave up on the earliest would be a throwing knife build. Just not fun at all.
I think there's tnt in one of the warehouses? Can't remember. I know you can find some somewhere in DC. Pretty sure it's in the warehouses.
Also Qiox I'm looking at your build and trying to think of how anyone could ever want that much tailoring and I can't work it out. You're blowing my mind here.
It also depends on whether we can start new characters at lvl 25 or if we have to play through the entire base game to get high enough lvl for the DLC.
Perfect ingredients would require 148 Tailoring for infused leather armor. Not likely to find perfect leather + perfect super steel, so 140 is plenty.
And as always when I play, the numbers in the build are just guidelines. I always make sure crafting points are the last ones I spend so that I can stop in sync with the actual quality of the ingredients I have.
The DLC content is mid-game, although exactly when you would want to tackle it depends on the difficulty setting.
Personally, I would not touch it before 16 on Hard and 20 on Dominating. If you buy the DLC all your current saves will be compatible. You can just continue any game you already have on the go.
Build tool will be fully released to general public this Friday, but anyone who wants to use it for content-related purposes can use it right now ("content" being things like updating your steam guides, or streaming meta game discussions, etc).
Maybe provide a link to your twitch then?
