High quality black cloth during late game.

Hey, so anyone know which merchants or what areas are most likely to spawn high quality black cloth. I'm looking for some in the 140-160 range. I've got pretty much everything else for my stupidly powerful overcoat but can't seem to find any black cloth over level 110.

JKK would be my best bet but I sided with Coretech cause they have more that's useful for me.

The JKK vendor does in fact specialize in Stealth gear, such as black cloth, soft padding, xbows and similar items.

You are left with hoping it shows up on any of the high level vendors who do not have specialized inventories, such as the one the Occulus.

Hmm, Oculus is a good shout. Hopefully they'll have some. Otherwise I might have to wait until I'm in DC before I find anything worth while. Might be some places in Expedition too since I've not finished that yet.

Be sure to visit Efreitor Hannah and, if you sided with Protectorate, Fraser in Fort Apogee. They both carry cloth, and they both have very high quality unlockables.

Derica can sell late game quality black cloth, you just have to give her time to restock somethin you want.

(or just use collectors edition for merchant refresh)

I've dropped in a few times but haven't seen anything over level 110. I think she might be limited to about quality 100 cloth.

Sorry man, definitely wrong with at least 2 of those.
SGS has a very low cap compared to the rest of the game so I won't find endgame cloth there.
Derica, as I said above, is capped about 100 or so and doesn't give any up to 160 quality.
I'm with the Protectorate on this run so Free Drones are out but I don't remember them having anything special. You might be right on this one though.

Just to be clear: we're talking about merchants after their 2nd upgrade which happens after finishing Core City part of main quest.


Such high quality black cloth isn't available every time you visit the shop. There's a chance it will spawn. It's not high but if someone needs high quality cloth those shops are worth checking, especially since you didn't side with Free Drones.

Hmm, pretty sure the SGS merchants don't improve a second time... If they do then it's not really very noticeable either... I've finished the Core City section of the main quest but they're still selling components capped about 60. Ezra sometimes has some stuff up to quality 100 or so but I'm pretty sure he's the only one.
I'll keep checking Derica since I'll be stopping in on my selling runs anyway but I have been checking with her every time I've been in there many many times while playing after having finished the Core City quests. So I'm doubtful she'll give me anything good...

I found 140+ electronic parts on Ezra occasionally, and I believe they do all improve somewhat. But the high quality stuff is still rare for them. I have to do several rounds across Underrail usually to get something specific, like a cyclone, a spearhead, good tichrome bars, or a solid energy converter. And some stuff is ultrarare, even if it can show up on a merchant (e.g. energy edge).

So keep looking and hoping :)

Harold and Lucas keep selling their low quality junk after they upgrade. Sadly, most of their items are this junk.
Ezra does it as well but he's far more consistent in having high quality stuff as well.
