Is Metal Armour worthwhile.
The armor penalty seems too big, you can't sneak around or use mp with it.
I mean with tabi boots you can pretty much outrun any melee enemy and not get hit, as for getting shot, the usual vest does the job just fine, same with energy weapons and shields.

Same goes with metal boots and helmet, worse with the boots since you're giving up the tabis too, though I guess striders do give mp.

Yes. Yes, it is. You don't need to sneak or run with a good suit of metal armour and passable CON, as no one but psi users can seriously damage you. You can init last and it doesn't matter, people can crit you with sniper rifles and barely hurt you. Your armour never runs out of charge. You can stand toe to toe with Carnifex and he can't do more than a few points of damage to you per swing. Completely different playstyle. If you haven't tried it, you ought to do so before assuming too much about it.

I'll also point out that with Armor Sloping, you can make a nice suit of Super Steel armor with a surprisingly low armor penalty. I wouldn't recommend metal armor for most psi builds (maybe a heavy psi puncher? Haven't tried one of those) but the tank approach is very valid. I played a high STR, high CON sledge build with metal armor and metal boots to get the highest armor penalty possible for crit stacking and while it was a little slow to move around the battlefield, I never really took damage from anything much other than Balor, Tchort, and a few lucky crits from random things.

What do you think of Riot Gear + Shield? Is it worthwhile for a pistol build?

It's viable, but I prefer infused rathound leather for a pistol build, personally.

You definitely shouldn't use it if you want to sneak, it's all about planning out your character. If you need mobility when using metal armor get Sprint (needs 6 agility).

Did you managed to clear platform in Core City from Faceless?

You can't clear the platform as Faceless infinitely respawn.
