Increasing plant happiness?

I couldn't find anything in the game about the happiness mechanic, but clearly it's a metric that matters if we have it. It would be nice to have in the plant journal information about each plant as far as lighting goes to help guide me. Or at least have the happiness mechanic explained would be good too. One plant has a score of 38, and another 7, and I've been able to increase some by a couple of points by moving them to different windows (or away from windows) but I'm mostly guessing based on what I already know about these plants.

I'm really enjoying this game but am feeling a little in the dark about this. I didn't see anything in the journal about it and the tutorial doesn't discuss it either. Right now I'm tracking happiness through renaming the plant, but having a section with a graph to track as it changes, or a notes section where I can add more information would be nice too.

If this information is already in here, could someone point me in the right direction because clearly, I've overlooked it. Thanks!

Hi! The only metrics that makes your plants happy currently are food and water. And they will tell you when they need them. If you have the auto watering and fertilizing terrariums, they will never be sad! What is kept track in the journal is how many times they have been happy. And if you don't feed and water them they will be sad and give you no coins. We tried having a more complicated method with amount of light, etc in the beginning but it took the relaxing part away from the game. Thanks for playing! And we love to hear suggestions!
