I'm really struggling with the game and need help gameplay wise

Hi, so I bought this game, and after a good half an hour of trying I just can't get very far at all. I usually make it past the animals but I always die to the bandits.
I've been a lot slower lately due to multiple health conditions so it's been a bit harder to play games, but I'd still like to try to make it a good way through this game and see what it has to offer.

Does anyone have any gameplay tips? Like how to efficiently dodge or hit things?

Just keep practicing. Try your best to collect animal skins to refill your health at the animal trader. I would also try your best to get special events and get new wagons. If you could get past the zombie event which is in the great plains itll unlock a pretty good wagon.
