Bridge Constructor is older than Poly Bridge, so Poly Bridge is actually a knockoff of this (and some older bridge building games). It's fairly similar, if that's what you wanted to know.

To be precise, the original bridge building game was the freeware game "Bridge Builder". Due to its success, in 2001 the creator founded a company, Chronic Logic, and brought out an improved version, "Pontifex", which was no longer free.

I remember having plenty of fun with the original Bridge Builder, probably in 2000 or 2001, although it was extremely basic compared to modern variations. I don't think that's still available, but Pontifex is. The sequel "Pontifex II" was renamed "Bridge Construction Set", and there was also "Bridge It". The list of sequels is from the German Wikipedia, which also claims that all these games have free demo versions. Only "Bridge It +" is on Steam, along with its demo.

I just tried out the demo of Bridge It+. It has great graphics and some very interesting features such as hydraulics for draw bridges. But in other ways it feels quite restricted compared to modern bridge building games. (E.g. you can't move a connection, and in simulation mode you don't get a visualization for where the stress is.)

It has only 38 levels, starting with extremely simple ones. But reportedly the later ones are insane, e.g. one in which the bridge can only connect on one side.
